Life can be stressful enough without deciding on a counselor! This decision probably isn't as scary as actually picking up the phone, making the appointment and doing something about your situation. If you fall in this category, please call me and make an appointment; I cater to chickens! Look at this as an opportunity to do something proactive - I have a common-sense approach to therapy. Together we can clarify the issues, move towards change so you can feel empowered. You had the courage to find this website, keep going. I provide face-to-face counseling as well as video (distance) counseling.
Specialty is individual and couples counseling with particular focus on relationship/communication issues, life transitions, conflict resolution. Certified Myers-Briggs practitioner, which helps improve communication by understanding personality types. I use many concepts and strategies in counseling that I use in teaching graduate counseling courses.
Counseling is much like taking a class; it is an opportunity to learn about yourself and how you relate to others. My office is in Wheaton, Illinois and I offer distance counseling to Illinois and Florida clients who are unable to travel to my office, or prefer counseling online.
