Traditional talk therapy can be helpful in some ways however, emotionally overwhelming experiences are stored in a separate part of the brain-a place that is not accessed through language. Experiential therapies allow us to reprocess moments from the past in order to live freely in the present. As a certified experiential therapist, I am trained in EMDR, brainspotting, and other modalities focused on sensory-motor and somatic healing. Each therapeutic experience is individualized to meet the needs of the client or family.
In addition to experiential and trauma therapies, I offer trainings, consultation, and clinical supervision as a board-certified social work supervisor. I have spent most of my career working in a long-term addiction treatment facility as a primary therapist, trauma clinical supervisor, and ultimately as director of clinical development.
