We serve children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. Whether they are just starting out in life, or well established, our clients want more from life. More happiness, more love, more freedom to be the best person they can be. We help our clients accomplish this by changing unwanted behaviors and healing painful emotions from life's unexpected crises, or wounds from the past. Our psychotherapy is strength-based, solution-focused and psychodynamic.

I have 35+ years of clinical experience providing individual psychotherapy. I work with adults from a psychoanalytic/psychodynamic framework. I believe, and research shows, that psychoanalytic/ psychodynamic psychotherapy is best suited and most effective for problems with depression, anxiety, and anger; as well as for interpersonal problems or conflicts in intimate relationships or with family, friends, or coworkers.

My approach is a blend of psychodynamic therapy, ACT and mindfulness.
I am now accepting new patients with expanded office hours. I am passionate about helping people move forward in their lives and from feeling stuck to being more aware of what is holding them back. I provide my clients with the tools to move forward and to face their fears and lack of belief in themselves. I use a non-judgmental space, allowing you to share concerns, set up goals and to find solutions. Are you feeling that you are not the person that you really can be? Are you anxious? Feeling limited? Are you unable to move past disappointing events or relationships? You no longer need to struggle alone.

Like many journeys, therapy begins with where you are now, factors in where you have been, and builds a plan for where you want to go. It is a collaborative process. You are the expert on your life and with the right supports in place, you can discover your strengths and begin the healing process. I have found a diverse therapeutic approach to be most effective in assisting my clients coping with life challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, grief, parenting and anger management. This approach utilizes my training in psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, solution focused and mindfulness techniques.

Life can be really hard sometimes. While you may be considering treatment for a variety of reasons, therapy can provide a critical anchor when you're feeling lost, stuck, or overwhelmed. I view therapy as a safe, explorative space to work through problems you are experiencing as well as learn more about the relationships you have with other people in your life. My style is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, and I use a combination of evidence-based, psychodynamic, and relational techniques to help you meet your goals and work towards relief and change. I value humor, being present, and meeting you exactly where you are.

Feeling stuck or overwhelmed by life? Need a safe space to work through unresolved trauma? Pregnant or adjusting to parenthood? With 10 years of experience in inpatient, outpatient, and home-based settings I have helped adults with a wide range of mental health concerns. My focus has been on individuals and families with significant psychiatric needs, and my passion lies in helping individuals overcome the impact of trauma/PTSD, peripartum mood and anxiety disorders, and life transitions. I am currently accepting new patients! My therapy style is warm, accepting, and active. I don't expect you to start therapy knowing exactly what you need - I'm here to help you figure it out! My approach is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy, but I creatively integrate DBT, trauma work, and psychodynamic therapy depending on your needs and preferences. I see our work together as a collaboration and I care deeply about your unique goals and strengths. I want to help you carry whatever it is that's weighing on you, and work toward solutions together. I truly look forward to working with you.

Psychodynamic therapy provides individuals linked moments that hope to illuminate the interplay between their inner and outer lives, expresses curiosity about how experiences from their past may unknowingly be influencing their present, and engages in self-examination about feelings, thoughts, fantasies, and impulses.
Often, we find ourselves in repetitive patterns that can appear to betray our deepest wishes for a fulfilling life. Perhaps you have developed ways of coping that were once effective but are less helpful than they were in the past. Natural life transitions themselves, even the joyful ones, can be full of complicated feelings like loss, grief, and various anxieties. You may wonder at moments of a feeling of being inhibited or too rigidly approaching the world. We can also just feel ‘off’ yet remain unsure why or what could be the cause. This is the value of exploring the aspects of self not immediately consciously available to us.

With evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, ERP, mindfulness, and psychodynamic techniques, we'll empower your child to conquer challenges, fostering resilience and positive change.
Is your child or teen dealing with anxiety, OCD, or depression? Do they feel frustrated, sad, stuck, irritable, and lonely? Symptoms like poor school performance, family conflicts, weak peer ties, and physical issues (e.g., stomachaches, headaches, sleep problems) often indicate their struggle. They may battle repetitive negative thoughts, suggesting impending doom, inadequacy, or harm, causing distress. These challenges not only hurt the child but also disrupt family harmony, leaving parents heartbroken.

My clinical services are informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, family systems approaches, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy.
Taking the step to start psychotherapy can be challenging. If you are considering beginning this difficult, yet rewarding journey, and find yourself hesitating, please know that this is normal. In therapy, I will encourage you to share only what you are ready to share and we will begin with that. Every session, we will actively work on your concerns and difficulties, while building a safe space. Right now, you may be feeling overwhelmed and anxious, depressed, stuck, or you may feel hijacked by past trauma, yet healing is possible. Just like everyone else, you have the right to live your life fully and to embody your inner wisdom.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
