I work with individual adults, age 21-64, in both CT and MA, over a wide spectrum of clinical issues including, anxiety, depression, ADHD, career counseling, life transitions, skill building, relationships, sexual orientation, gender identity, grief, self-esteem, stress management, presentation anxiety and self-care. My areas of expertise and passion include, building/expanding tools for managing your anxiety and depression, life transitions, career change/advancement, the LGBTQIA+ community, and the specific issues that executives, health care professionals and graduate/professional students face.

Carolyn helps treat clients, of all ages with a variety of needs. Including those with a history of trauma, anxiety, depression, anger issues, relationship issues and general daily stress. She utilizes a variety of different tools gained from her Holistic background and training as a trauma therapist, along with her extensive study in the use of hypnotherapy to address differing client symptoms. Her treatment is client-focused and driven by the client's needs and wants.

I strive to connect with any individual on whatever their current path in life may be. I enjoy working with children and teens, exploring the variety of very real day to day frustrations that they encounter at their age and ensuring they have an ear to hear them. I enjoy connecting with individuals with ADHD and ASD, finding means of connection and empathy through traditional talk therapy or creative therapies. As a music therapist and yoga instructor, I strive to find holistic means of connection and focus on the whole body within the therapeutic space, using music and movement in lieu of words when words may be difficult to find.

My clients come in with many different troubles and often, the troubles lead to a great many other problems that they have or have had in their lives. To feel "okay" and, today's society tries to warp us into believing we are not okay because we need something else than what we have right now. We all have the capacity to choose a better life, better relationships, better care for ourselves. The answer is not outside of us but within. I work with children, teens and adults that think they're not enough. We are all enough.

For the past 20 years, my work has focused on helping children with anxiety and behavioral challenges. Like physicians, practicing what is scientifically proven to work is essential. Children deserve no less! So when working to help children with anxiety, ODD, DMDD, CD, and IED, I use Parent Management Training (PMT), Cognitive Behavioral Training (CBT), and Problem-Solving Skills Training (PSST). For 7-years at Yale University and for the past 10 years through my clinic, I have trained hundreds of professionals and parents from around the world in these treatments via telehealth and in-person sessions.

I specialize in adults, family, and child/adolescent age groups. I offer treatment for depression, anxiety, anger management, adjustment issues, substance abuse and trauma related difficulties. My approach is client centered, while identifying a specific treatment plan that will motivate and strengthen a positive belief system to encourage recovery. I am skilled in helping clients identify objective personal goals in therapy. I assist in achieving these goals through consitent and compassionate support. I am well versed in facilitating group, individual, and family counseling services.

I am a professional male therapist working with men who feel overwhelmed due in part to the new realities brought on by the pandemic. These may include changes in employment, finances, marital relationships, parenting and increased anxiety. In my practice, I use an integrative style drawing from a number of theoretical orientations. I utilize person-centered tenets to provide a safe, comfortable and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves. I have found that the existential themes of anxiety, choice and meaning provide a framework from which we can view our daily struggles and often utilize metaphors highlighting these undertones to help clarify client’s statements.
