Professionally, I am a seasoned therapist with almost 30 years of experience, including over a decade of which involved assessing people in crisis, supporting those struggling with medical issues, and connecting people to community resources. Personally, I am an adoptive parent of five children.

In life we have all experienced anxious thoughts, disappointments, and conflict within our relationships. These challenging parts of life can prevent us from living freely and fully. Sometimes we need a little help engaging with our past experiences and emotions to pursue hope and healing. That’s where I come in - as a fellow (imperfect, broken) human, I will sit with you, offering hope, empathy, warmth, and steadiness as we process the unique intricacies of your life - the very things that make you, you.

In today's world, people can be ambushed by any number of experiences that can leave us drained, exhausted, and feeling like it's hard to move forward. Counseling can be an outlet for individuals to sort through what they're feeling, and get perspective, and assistance, and most of all, a certainty that someone is listening; that your voice is being heard.

I believe we are here to discover, learn, and experience as much as possible in this short journey. As a seasoned and experienced Counselor, I take a holistic (comprehensive) approach in psychotherapy focusing on all parts of a person which includes the emotional, social, biological, environmental, spiritual/philosophical (meaning and purpose), and psychological components that make us whole. And if you are in need of psychiatric medications, I work with a Psychiatrist in the area and you will have access to this service.

I am an addiction counselor/ therapist and the name of my agency is "Restoration". I have years of experience and training in addiction and a variety of approaches. I work together with clients to explore and work through old patterns or unexpected traumatic experiences. I have found that, by treating people with compassion rather than judgment; positive change happens.I am a proponent of Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational interviewing, Evident Based Practices and Stress Release Techniques. I have had the opportunity to impact not only the lives of the clients I serve, but also their families.

I sincerely believe that one's perception is their reality, and understanding that perception allows me to connect with them in a more therapeutic manner. Each client brings their own unique story, and hearing that story brings valuable insight. My goals in the therapeutic setting are to earn and build client trust, to always be authentic, to model empathy and warmth, to employ unconditional positive acceptance, to assist with reframing problematic thinking to foster potential solutions for happiness and healing, and to foster development of healthy coping skills as needed.

Life's journey sometimes wounds people and breaks down families, marriages and destroys relationships. I provide a safe and peaceful environment so that we can bring about healing together by renewing the spirt and rebuilding hope to restore the individual and their relationships. I take a holistic and solution focused approach that deals with a person on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. I am a licensed professional counselor and have been in private practice for 20 years. I have worked with individuals, couples and families as well as with adolescents.

I work with individuals, couples, families, but overall specialize in working with children and adolescents. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, adjustment/life-cycle transition issues, grief/loss, self-esteem, relationships difficulties and treating trauma utilizing EMDR. I use integrative approach to therapy that allows for individualized treatment. I strongly believe that, although experiences shape our world view, they do not need to define us. Light can always seep through.

I have been counseling since 1991, my passion has been to help people achieve their greatest potential using counseling, spiritual direction and Neurofeedback. I have particularly enjoyed working with people desiring to heal and strengthen their own sense of self, marriages, working through life challenges and long term goals as well as discerning direction at times of major life transition.

It is my desire as a counselor to help women and children heal from trauma, navigate relationships, and overcome depression, anxiety, and body image issues. My counseling begins from the worldview that we are all deeply cared for by a God whose image we bear, and I seek to demonstrate that care to my clients.
