Counseling is meant to be a place where we are able to walk through the struggles and find both real hope and practical help. I work with individuals and couples walking through a wide variety of life struggles not just to relieve pain, but to find fulfillment and balance in life as a whole.

I have a passion for helping people learn how to identify and express their emotions so that they can better understand themselves and others. I believe that by learning more about our emotions, we can help ourselves thrive in our relationships with ourselves and the people around us. Currently, I am pursuing my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Denver Seminary. Most of my life was spent in Houston, Texas, but I have traded those hot and humid summers for the much cooler climate of Denver. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, reading, and hiking.

I specialize in couples counseling utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy. I love to help couples restore love and trust to their relationship no matter what the hurt is that has caused discord in the relationship. I also love to help couples that have a good relationship, deepen their emotional bond and become each other's best friend and soul mate.

Although I work with a broad range of clients and subjects my passion and experience are best suited for marriage, parenting, young men and adolescent boys. Because of my age and experience I can connect effectively with both parent and child in a way that brings the whole family closer together.

Most people come to counseling due to emotional distress. Whether anxiety, mood issues, panic, relational or life transition problems, they desire resolution. They are aware that life continues and more challenges are coming at them. They hope that with counseling they can increase their resiliance and strength and gain mastery over their internal lives. The ideal client will be courageous, honest, and eventually risk vulnerability. To get the roots and not just the fruits of emotional unease. To be patient and trust themselves in the process. She is an LCSW who has a background in healthcare and agency work with focus on helping clients managing symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression during transitional phases in life. When one experiences trauma or severe life stressors, it is a common response to feel lost, like our world has fallen apart as we are faced with making sense of it again. The foundation of her practice is built on helping people reach their mental health and healing goals through evidence-based counseling techniques and talk therapy.

Hi there! I am so glad you’re here. As a counselor, I am passionate about serving my community. I hold my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. I pull from a variety of experiences in working in the mental health care industry including working with adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities, adolescents in school settings, adult and adolescent inpatient treatment, mental health and the outdoors, corrections counseling, private practice, and group counseling for transgender adolescents. Leaving you feeling rattled, jittery, afraid, jumpy, depressed, fatigued and isolated. Decades of abuse. A pattern of falling in love with unavailable, alcoholic narcissists. Escaped poverty in shameful ways. Had an illness, injury or disability that changed your life forever. Perhaps you escaped a cult. Had a psychotic or manic episode. A near death experience. When a new client first walks through my office door, one of the initial things I tell them is that by seeking help they have already solved a good portion of their issue. The fact that you have enough courage, strength, humility and self awareness to seek help is a great place to start. It has been an honor for more than 20 years to serve couples and individuals who are struggling with infidelity, sex addiction, substance addiction, intimacy anorexia and intimacy issues. I have also helped men with masculinity issues, intimacy issues and understanding their purpose in life, relationships and community.

Dependent upon each client's needs, I develop a customized approach drawing from the following theories: relational psychodynamic, person centered, trauma informed, narrative, CBT, IFS/Parts Work, mindfulness, and somatic. I believe that we are never finished growing and evolving as human beings.

I feel that it's important for clients to feel warmth, sincerity and comfort when in therapy. It's my goal that my clients feel heard, respected and validated while processing disheartening experiences.
