Hi! My goal is to assist children in reaching their highest potential and collaborating with families to create a more harmonious and happy life together. Through humor, and sometimes silliness, I build authentic and genuine relationships with children and their families. My therapeutic approach is centered on the specific needs of each child. Experience includes serving as an elementary school counselor in a magnet school for the gifted: supporting general, special, and gifted education students and their families, as well as experience as a grief counselor, working with palliative care and hospice care patients and their families.

Accepting new clients... I work with high-achieving people who are intelligent, prone to overthinking, and tend to be more logical than emotional. Despite the amount of energy you put into excelling at work, school, or your relationships, you might still experience overwhelming anxiety regarding whether you're doing enough, potentially causing anger or depression. Perhaps your perfectionism damaged your sense of self-worth. You’re not sure how much longer you can - or want to - keep this up. More than anything, you want to gain control over your uncomfortable thoughts and feelings.

I love working with people struggling with anxiety, panic, trauma, or who are pregnant/postpartum, who are wanting to figure out how to function better and feel more contentment and calm—even in today's increasingly overstimulating, complex, and inequitable world.

You can't see it, but you can definitely feel it - the chest tightness, racing heartbeat, upset stomach, sweaty hands - the telltale signs of stress and anxiety are so uncomfortable and overwhelming! If only you could measure and see how stressed you were, then you could figure out what to do and how to better manage it. And maybe you could start sleeping well again too. Or maybe you're losing sleep over a really difficult relationship with a partner, parent, child, or even a friend, and you just need to sort through it with someone who isn't any of those people. I am here to help you with all of these issues.

I love helping people to overcome loss, remove barriers, learn more about themselves, and live fuller lives. You might be going through a painful loss or a major transition. You may have recently experienced a terrible trauma, or you have decided to finally address long-standing painful childhood experiences. You may be trying to decide if you can fix your relationship, or if it's time to leave. There are any number of reasons why people seek the help of a mental health professional. But it is often one of the most important journeys a person can undertake.

I imagine you are looking for a therapist to help you find answers, healing, and understanding. You are likely searching for the root cause of your pain and begin your unique healing journey that builds empowerment and freedom from the experiences of your past. Whether you are carrying burdens or pain from your past, feeling anxious or hopeless about the future, or have difficulty staying present, my intention is to offer a space to share your vulnerability and process the heavy stuff that can be difficult to understand. Every person has the potential to grow towards the healing and wholeness that is already within.

Relationships are the foundation of our lives. Through the quality of our connections with those we care about, we can feel as though we are thriving or they can leave us feeling isolated and alone. Working to strengthen or rebuild connections with others and with ourselves is extremely important to creating a sense of support and acceptance. If our foundation feels secure and safe, we can then allow ourselves to thrive in other areas of our lives. I have special training in relational therapy and how to strengthen these "systems" and the influence they have on our lives.

You've probably discovered that life has presented you with a myriad of curve balls. Perhaps traumas from your past are lurking beneath the surface, waiting to be unveiled. Maybe you even notice your body sending you signals that something "feels off", or feel stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns and crave to break free. Waking up to our realities is a vulnerable and brave act, which can oftentimes feel frightening. I hold space for all of these experiences. Through trauma-informed psychotherapy and somatic (body-based) interventions, we will safely enter into a deep healing process for lasting change together.

Hi! I'm Kristin, I'm a LPCC with a specialty in supporting individuals navigating eating disorder treatment. I also bring trained experience & a holistic approach to managing OCD, trauma, and somatic experiencing. Taking the first step into therapy can be hard. Starting this journey can feel less daunting when you know there's someone ready to listen and walk alongside you. Lucky for you, I have had some real-life experience with things going sideways and getting back up. My style pulls from somatic practices, parts work (IFS informed) and creative expression with a Health at Every Size (HAES) and trauma-informed lens.

We all need someone who can hold space for us. Hold space to process the past. Hold space to process how the past is showing up in the present. And hold space to process a different future. Regardless of what season of hurt or difficult circumstances you’re in, I believe hurt and hope can coexist. Let’s process through the pain and get to the other side where there’s hope and new ways of living. IG: evergreencotherapist
