I have found EMDR to be helpful for so many people.
Life is messy and we are human. People get stuck, or overwhelmed by changes they don't want or understand Sometimes we speak or act in unhelpful ways. Time alone isn't enough. Let's do something about it.

Using EMDR, EFT, and attachment-based methods, we’ll break through anxiety, trauma, and relational patterns holding you back.
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected in your relationships? You might be struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, or trauma that you’ve managed to cope with for years, but you’re ready for something more. You’re highly motivated and committed to creating real change in your life, and you know that this will require hard work. Maybe your relationships are strained—whether with a partner, family member, or even within yourself—and you’re ready to break free from the patterns holding you back. I’ll help you understand and untangle the mental mess in your head and guide you toward the confidence and clarity you deserve.

I use a variety of clinical approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic, IFS, EMDR, AEDP, and other trauma-focused therapies.
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! Do you ever think to yourself, "What's wrong with me?" or "How come I cannot snap out of it?" Let me tell you, there is nothing wrong with you and you simply cannot snap out of it. There are a lot of social stigmas when we have emotional struggles; we internalize these beliefs. Sometimes, we resist seeking treatment because it can be seen as a weakness because of underlying trauma or experience. This worsens over time whether you are depressed, anxious, fearful, frustrated, resentful, or angry. I believe many of us want to have understanding, support, empathy, and new coping methods.

I use somatic based EMDR, Natural Processing to help you work through issues and find your inner strength with new understanding.
Are you feeling frustrated because you are stuck in the same patterns? Have you spent years trying to figure out why you do what you do but still struggle trying to make changes? There are ways to break away from these patterns and gain new understanding. Or are you feeling trapped in an addictive lifestyle with unhealthy patterns that you continue to repeat over and over again. This often leads to ‘beating yourself up’ every time the substance wins over your desire to say no.

I am dually trained in Brainspotting and EMDR.
I have been licensed as a therapist since 2013. Originally from Wisconsin I have lived in Steamboat Springs, Colorado since 2017. I focus primarily in treating addictions, anxiety, depression, OCD, sleep issues, sports performance improvement and trauma (PTSD). When people seek out a therapist they often fall into two categories. The first being those who are seeking therapy for the first time. The second are people who have been in therapy before who are seeking a therapist who can help them heal permanently from whatever issue they are dealing with. That is my goal, to help people heal permanently and move forward in their lives.

One powerful technique that I use is EMDR.
I love helping people to overcome loss, remove barriers, learn more about themselves, and live fuller lives. You might be going through a painful loss or a major transition. You may have recently experienced a terrible trauma, or you have decided to finally address long-standing painful childhood experiences. You may be trying to decide if you can fix your relationship, or if it's time to leave. There are any number of reasons why people seek the help of a mental health professional. But it is often one of the most important journeys a person can undertake.

I specialize in substance use disorder, PTSD/ EMDR therapy, LGBTQIA populations, and those that are experiencing anxiety, depression, and general stress.
When it comes to therapy, I try to make the process as applicable as possible for the client in order to make them feel comfortable. A lot of the clients I see are working on difficult transitions in life, such as grief and loss, coping with stress from daily life, or working through their past. The clients I see are all motivated to not let their past, daily stressors, or negative habits define who they are! We will work through these issues in order to gain awareness, generate acceptance, and then take appropriate action in order to get the most out of life. I will go at your pace to allow for both comfort and development.

Internal Family Systems Therapy and Attachment-Focused EMDR are powerful, focused treatment methods that work by releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, cravings, and a variety of other challenging symptoms that lead to self-medicating with substances and behaviors.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
