If you're looking for real, I have you covered! Congratulations on taking the brave dive into therapy and improving your life. I am excited about helping you reach your goals. My identity as a therapist is very much grounded in the many years I spent in education. I often see myself as an educator when working with clients, and I believe that helping you learn concrete skills and tools in therapy are at the core of what you need to heal and take good care of yourself. When you leave each session with me, you can expect to have a take away tool that you can start using immediately to positively impact your mental health.
Our first session together will include some housekeeping items (including consent! It's important to be empowered with the knowledge of what therapy will look like with me), and a general background of what is bringing you into therapy.
I am very down to earth and approachable, and, again, like to use humor. But first and foremost, I lead with compassion. I work really well with young adults trying to figure out life, people straddling caring for young children while also caring for aging parents, and people of all ages struggling to recover from trauma and interpersonal abuse.
