Trauma is often the root of our struggles. Childhood and adult trauma can leave visible and invisible marks on our bodies and souls. These marks show up in our relationships, our parenting, and our physical health, among other places. It takes bravery to face the feelings that trauma brings up within us. I tailor my techniques and connections to the individual needs of each person who walks through my door because not one of us can, or should, be boxed into a category. I specialize in working with adults; individuals, couples, and families.
I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, known as EMDR. In general, I specialize in trauma informed care. However, I am skilled in CBT and Existential Therapy. My methods focus on getting to know the client first and then choosing one, or more, techniques to help the client heal. I also run trauma groups for men and women; separately.
As your therapist, my primary goal will be to connect with you and your needs. It’s my belief that human connection has gotten lost in today’s society and it’s led to emotional and spiritual wounds. All of the fancy education and techniques matter, but will never replace the healing that occurs through the care and connection you'll experience as my client.
