I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and men, and with the LGBTQ+ community, including transgender and non-binary individuals.
We all have a deep desire to feel happy and at ease, and yet so often there are things in our lives that get in the way of feeling that happiness. If this resonates, you might be looking for someone to help you get there. I'm passionate about helping my clients manage symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve communication and relationship challenges, process trauma or grief, overcome barriers to deeper joy and fulfillment, and navigate questions of sexuality and gender identity. I'm a queer trans man and I work from a trauma-informed and culturally competent anti-oppression perspective.

I am a LGBTQ+ therapist who loves working with individual adults who are curious about themselves and who are ready to look at their past, including any trauma that has impacted their life. I am trained in EMDR which is a powerful treatment modality that helps process traumatic or distressing events and memories. I use assessments that are validated to ensure I understand what you are experiencing. As we work together, I will ask about what is working best for you and will tailor my approach as needed. Telehealth/video sessions only at this time.

I am particularly passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, and prioritize creating a safe space for this work, and all therapeutic work.
Families are facing so many challenges, and taking that step to seek outside help is vital and brave. Before looking for a therapist, you've likely striven to help your child or teen in other ways at home and school. My primary role as your child's therapist is to collaborate with you and your child/teen to clearly identify strengths and struggles, and come up with a game plan to build connection, confidence, and stability. I utilize cognitive-behavioral, DBT, and trauma-focused approaches that are proven to reduce depression, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, and interpersonal conflicts.

I’ve worked with people processing gender identity, polyamory/CNM, systematic forms of oppression, neurodivergence, bisexual erasure, sex work, kink, and sexuality in general.
Connection is one of the most powerful forms of healing. Whether you are feeling isolated, stressed, or overwhelmed in your life, healing often begins with sharing the burden with another person. You’ve taken the first and sometimes the hardest step towards starting therapy. I’m glad you’re here. I am a queer therapist and it is my greatest joy to work with my queer community. I work with people who hold intersecting identities and have experienced a wide range of concerns including trauma, PTSD, gender dysphoria, polyamory/CNM/ENM, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. I offer individual and relationship therapy.

I have experience working with psychosis, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ+, self-harm, bipolar, sexual violence/abuse, Dissociative Identity Disorder, high trauma cases, and more.
Having worked at a mental health hospital and seeing clients from all walks of life, it's clear that there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach. In fact, I'd say quite the opposite; I believe therapy should be a collaborative experience with the client and the therapist. No one knows you like you do, and no matter your reasons for seeking therapy, I'm here to walk through that beautiful, and often difficult process with you.

I am a passionate, trauma-informed, and multiculturally competent practitioner with a deep commitment to LGBTQIA+, identity-affirming, and anti-racist approaches.
Working with a diverse client population, I provide a brave and grounded space for clients who are curious about new possibilities for their lives. I offer individual, relationship, and family therapy for ages 4+. Rooted in experiential and narrative philosophies, I collaboratively explore the ways clients get stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. No matter how trapped clients may feel in the cycles they find themselves in, there is always a way to break free and to consciously create new cycles. I am here to help clients shed light on those old patterns, explore how they came to be, and step into a new way of being.

Trauma, by definition, is "a deeply distressing or disturbing experience." Everyone has experienced a traumatic experience at some point. I have experience working with cases of childhood trauma, sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, BIPOC, queer & polyamorous relationships, low self-esteem, and adjustment challenges.
Do you notice patterns repeating themselves, not feeling met or seen in your struggles? Are you ready to cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself and foster healthier relationships? Do past burdens carry over into your present moment experience? Do you want to develop the ability to ensure confidence, clarity, and accurate communication of your experiences? Is there a sense of unfulfillment regarding the systems you are a part of?

LGBTQ+ Therapists

Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?

Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?

Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?

While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
