We work together to determine if IFS, EMDR, Sand Tray, or traditional talk therapy would be best for you.
As a Therapist, I want to provide my teen and young-adult clients with a safe space to process through challenging experiences, to better understand and explore their emotions, and to empower them to create attainable goals for the future. In therapy sessions, I work to listen, validate, and challenge in order to help clients create better methods of coping and also increase their self-compassion. This typically results in improvements in anxiety, depression, and negative beliefs.

I am trained in EMDR and incorporate this when appropriate.
When we grow up in dysfunctional families, we learn skills to deal with difficult situations that were helpful in the past but that may no longer serve us, like shutting down or exploding when we're upset, conflict avoidance, having trouble asking for what we want or need, people-pleasing, perfectionism, numbing with phone scrolling or substances each night...the list goes on. My ideal clients are adults who have had challenging life experiences and who are hoping to gain insight into how their pasts are impacting them in the present. I help clients to address harmful behaviors, heal from trauma, and create a beautiful life.

Intrigued by the mind/body connection, I have pursued and practiced EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Yoga, somatic & mindfulness techniques, and find these useful for navigating and rewriting held and stored emotional turmoil.
Frustration, stress, and past trauma can hijack even our best days. As your therapist, I’m your sounding board, guide to self-healing and inner growth, and an instrument to unlock your potential. I enjoy working with people seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, who are ready to do the work and want to lean into a more mindful and fulfilling life. Together, we can work on getting to the root of reactions and patterns, creating space for self-awareness and ultimately influence your relationship with yourself.

One tool we can use is a trauma specific method called EMDR to help past traumas become “unstuck” so that you can move forward in a more adaptive way.
If you are suffering in the present due to past hurts and traumas, or are currently feeling stuck due to depression, life transitions, and/or worry that prevents you from doing the things you want to do, there is hope. You can work through past hurts and current stressors to create the present and future you desire. In order to move forward and reach your goals, it’s helpful to have a non-judgmental, experienced, and supportive therapist beside you. I hope to be that person for you. We can work together to create a treatment approach that is specific to your needs.

I utilize the following forms of therapy to assist in working through the harsh impacts trauma can have; EMDR, Art Therapy, Emotional Freedom Therapy, Psychedelic Therapy, Biofeedback, and more that are used in conjunction.
I have always had a genuine interest in the uniqueness and well-being of others. I believe that we can all grow from the situations we have experienced. Whether that experience be divorce, abuse, addiction, or trauma of some sort. Our brains & bodies have a way of healing themselves through processing. Certain experiences can cause us to feel alone, anxious, sad, depressed, unmotivated, angry, violated, exposed, and at times emotionally unstable. Here in therapy I walk the journey with you as we work through emotions, gain insight, and create more beneficial perspectives. I provide a space of safety, understanding, and compassion.

I treat anxiety and trauma with the newest mind-body technologies, such as EMDR, which retrains your brain, and cognitive behavioral therapy, where you will learn to replace unhealthy thoughts with constructive alternatives.
Can we all agree that life can be rough? One minute, things are great, then the next, things feel different. Is it a disconnect in our relationships? Is it unmanageable demands? Life feels heavy, and the days feel long. We question the path we have taken and worry about our future. You are not alone! Imagine feeling at ease, again. What does that feel like? Is it reduced anxiety, increased self-esteem, or socializing again? I am here to meet you on your journey and help you to feel empowered and supported. Every person has a different story to tell. The counseling process should reflect an individuals' journey.

I have received certifications for EMDR, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Sex Therapy.
When a new client first walks through my office door, one of the initial things I tell them is that by seeking help they have already solved a good portion of their issue. The fact that you have enough courage, strength, humility and self awareness to seek help is a great place to start. It has been an honor for more than 20 years to serve couples and individuals who are struggling with infidelity, sex addiction, substance addiction, intimacy anorexia and intimacy issues. I have also helped men with masculinity issues, intimacy issues and understanding their purpose in life, relationships and community.

I offer in person and online therapy for adults & teens across Colorado, & EMDR Intensives.
It’s exhausting always waiting for the other shoe to drop. As an overthinking and overwhelmed professional, perfectionist, or people pleaser, you’re beyond tired of constantly reliving the past or worrying about the future. You have a good life, but you don't feel good, and you don't feel good enough. Even though you have a strong faith or sense of purpose, you stay in high anxiety, chronic worry, and feeling emotionally overwhelmed. You want to stop feeling like anxiety is controlling you and start feeling in control of anxiety, but instead you feel stuck in what-if and worst case scenario thinking that you don't know how to stop.

My offered treatments include Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Psychedelic Integration Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Hypnotherapy, Yoga Nidra/iRest, Energy/Chakra and sound healing.
When I think of my ideal client, I think of the person who has been suffering from trauma for far too long with no help whatsoever from traditional treatments. They might be the type of person who feels disconnected and tends to self-sabotage when things are going well. I’m here for those people who are nontraditional and are curious enough to explore deeper levels of their consciousness

Alternately, since our bodies are active in our emotional pain, I can provide EMDR or other somatic approaches to incorporate your physical being in therapy should you desire that as part of treatment.
Choosing to change—to rekindle passion and purpose—with the help of a therapist is hard work. So, thank you for being here; let’s see if I might be a good fit. My goal is to share skills and to help process whatever is keeping you from experiencing a sense of wholeness that connection to your passions and purposes brings. While I see people of all ages, I tend to work with teenagers and adults and with those experiencing grief, suffering from trauma, or facing existential/identity turmoil. Outside of counseling, I am a bookworm with a particular taste for sci-fi or philosophy, and I delight in restoring vintage or antique items.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
