Stirrup Hope's name is what the practice strides to do 'stirring up' hope in a chaotic world. Using CPT, CBT, equine facilitated psychotherapy, and task completion and compliance in the unique setting of our horse barn where all five senses are engaged to SEE the horses, SMELL the hay/leather/animals, TASTE their daily snack or hot chocolate, TOUCH the horses during grooming, and HEAR the horses nickering helping to become mindful rather than checking out. Through our work together, worries are displaced by learning new skills bolstering a sense of self confidence, resiliency and joy.

At Rock Your Family, my team and I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families work through challenging issues in their communication and in their interpersonal dynamics. We also are dedicated to helping our clients overcome major issues such as: infidelity, domestic violence, past traumas, abuse, addictions, etc. We have a caring and professional team of licensed and certified counselors that specialize in emotional issues, relationship problems, and clinical disorders.

I will not be asking you "How does that make you feel?" YOU are the expert in you and my role is to help you understand things that are in your way and how to get rid of them. I served in Army, Navy and in the Marine infantry with three combat tours. I've had to work through my own trauma and struggles and after I did, I went back to get my degree so I can help people struggling to move forward. I partner with clients to help build understanding of where the problems originate so you can revise the narrative and move toward the person you want to be.

The weight of emotional pain can be unbearable and lonely. It is difficult, impossible even, to envision feeling better, feeling fulfilled, feeling connected or just feeling like yourself again. These emotions may result from substance use/abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship problems, or life/work stressors. I understand how daunting this first step can be and I provide a safe, warm space to help you make your way through this and find your healthy path.

As the Owner, Executive Clinical director, and parent to a child with “specialized needs”, Christie understands how important a whole-child approach is when working with children. She believes wholeheartedly, that whole parents raise whole kids! Therefore, so much of what she provides, serves parents too! Her facility, Whole Kids Co. is a multi-disciplinary Counseling and Autism Center. It serves children, teens, and college-aged kids (and their parents too!) through: testing, counseling, ABA, OT, PT, Speech, social groups, nutritional/wellness training, parent training/therapy, and educational advocacy.

In my 10 years in the field, I have been fortunate enough to work with a variety of ages, populations and in many different settings (inpatient, in-home, in-school, outpatient, crisis response). Using both evidenced and experiential-based treatment, I utilize a person-centered approach in our work together. This basically means we’ll always work together to utilize what techniques benefit you the most in your healing.

I love the work I do. I work with individuals with trauma, anxiety, and other stressors that are a result from childhood trauma. I enjoy working with the family unit and helping individuals with their relationships. I have a wide ray of experience in working with couples in everyday stressors with their relationships. I am Andrea Spencer, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor in Colorado. I believe therapy takes tremendous courage and I am grateful for every client that chooses to share their story with me. I focus on meeting them where they are in their story and work alongside them to gain insight and make positive changes in their lives. As an attachment-focused child therapist, I work primarily with children and young adults with their parents. Many feel stuck in a negative pattern of conflict, defiance, and anger. My focus is promoting change through playful, accepting, reciprocal connections between caregivers and children. I am a TBRI Practitioner, trained in DDP, EMDR levels 1 and am a Certified Autism Professional. I also have advanced training in working with ADHD and am completing my DBT training. I love the challenge of high-conflict families and adoption trauma, and I use a playful, engaged presence, movement and play for a bottom-up approach to healing.
