Taking the step towards change is a courageous endeavor. After 25 years working as a psychologist, I know people can make positive changes. Finding a therapist that feels supportive, non-judgmental and engaging is one of the first steps. I create a supportive and comfortable space to process the challenges you are facing. I will provide different ways to create change using evidence-based strategies such as EMDR and modifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs. Working with a trained therapy dog, called animal assisted therapy, is an option for any client who is interested.

I believe that mental health is at once more complex than we might think and also more easily understood by exploring ourselves and our environment. As an explorer of life, I have traveled the world, connected with people from across the globe, and breathed in the lessons the universe has to offer.

I have over 25 years experience work with pre teens (middle school), adolescents, women, men and families. I believe we are all unique in our own way, our uniqueness is what makes us special, it's our “super power”. With this belief that we are all so different and unique, I use all this great knowledge I’ve gained over the years and I personalize your therapy. I use different modalities determining on what your needs are. I do not use just one technique for all my clients, I use many and I mold them around you… mold them to your own uniqueness. I give clients a safe, non-judgmental space to deal with their issues.

I am a therapist because I want to support individuals, couples, and families dealing with relational issues, family/relationship conflict, difficult life transitions, anxiety, and depression. Maybe you have tried time and time again to break old patterns. Or maybe you are just now noticing patterns from your family of origin you would like to break. I know that it can take a lot of energy and courage to begin therapy and I hope that my non-judgmental and collaborative approach will help create an environment where you feel safe to explore your relationships with others and yourself.

I am trained in how to treat issues such as affairs, addictions, and trauma within the couple unit.
When you are alone you understand why you feel lonely. When you are in a relationship and you feel you are alone, that is different. Our need for relationships is hardwired into our biology. It goes against the grain for us to remain alone during our lifespan. However, relationships are tough. They require humbleness, honesty, and sacrifice. As a Certified Gottman Method Therapist, I am trained on the work of Drs. John & Julie Gottman and their over 5 decades of research on relationships.

I will help foster healthy communication to discuss difficult topics including sexual difficulties, infidelity, and parenting issues.
Choosing a therapist can often be difficult and overwhelming. By now you probably viewed at least five different therapists- give or take. So stop strolling and know that I am the right therapist for you. Wanna make sure? I would too. Most potential clients want to know how much experience I have providing therapy. Currently, I have over 15 years of experience and have worked in various clinical settings. Next, I provide individual, family, and couple's therapy. I do not work with children under 10 years of age, but I do work with parents. I am also a published author. Website is listed in my profile.

Relationships can bring great happiness when they are working well, but when arguments, disappointments, and hurts enter our relationships, we often react with frustration, emotional pain, and helplessness. If you want help regaining the positive feelings you long for in your relationship, becoming confident in your ability to manage conflicts, working through any past injuries or betrayals, and learning new ways to build a lasting friendship, then you have come to the right place.

Human beings are wired for connection. That means that we spend the entirety of our lives seeking and maintaining relationships — both with ourselves and with others. When these relationships go awry, we can often find ourselves feeling alone and helpless. The pains from the past and the uncertainties of life can leave us feeling stuck and unsure of how to move forward. Sound familiar?

Infidelity Therapists
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
