My personal philosophy revolves around the belief that counseling is a profound and transformative journey rooted in the establishment of a strong and empathetic relationship. At the core of this philosophy is the conviction that individuals thrive in an environment where they feel genuinely loved and safe. This secure foundation serves as a catalyst for personal exploration and growth. Everyone enters into therapy with different needs and concerns. I believe therapy is the process of deep wounds turning into scars. Hope can seem like a distant aspiration in that process. I am prepared to hold that hope until we can find it together

Co-existing between multiple worlds for those who are bicultural or in multicultural couples can be exhausting, and leave you unsure about who you are and where you belong. No matter how hard you try, you feel like you’re never enough and that nobody on any ‘side’ really gets you. You’re ready to dial down your anxiety and navigate your worlds with greater ease. You’re ready to build bridges across divides in your relationship, and be better resourced to navigate work stress so you don’t burn out. Above all, you’re ready to discover a more solid sense of self and self-worth - I'm here to help you get there.

Research shows that the single most important indicator in the effectiveness of therapy is the quality of the therapist/client relationship.
People coming to therapy are carrying their own strengths and solutions. It's an honor to partner with clients who are open to doing the hard work and trusting me to guide them through their process. I use a variety of evidence-based approaches, delivered in a gentle, warm, and focused manner.

I work with a multitude of issues, however my specific areas of clinical focus are in trauma, relationship/attachment issues, identity, body image/self-worth, eating disorders, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, and spirituality.
Do you feel stuck in life? Do you find yourself questioning why you do the things you do, day in and day out? We all come to certain points in our lives where we take a look in the mirror and ask ourselves “who have I become?” Whether it be a momentary season of life - or a life long hardship - grief, trauma, self-worth, and relationship issues can plague us and steal our ability to fully engage in the lives we dreamed of. Instead, we settle for the isolation and suffering we know because those hopes and dreams feel unattainable. I am a firm believer that there is hope for change and hope for a brighter future.

For the past 26 years I have created a safe space for clients to work on a number of personal and relational issues. This safety is created and sustained by respectful care and radical acceptance of a person no matter where they find themselves on the journey. Clients who see me are often struggling with primary relationship issues, identity issues brought about by transitions or grief and loss, anxiety or depression- which begins to rob one's joy, present or past trauma, present or past loss of attachments, or feelings of dissatisfaction with their present life that requires a change.

My approach to counseling is founded on a firm belief in your goodness and your capacity to grow through relationship.
Sometimes being in the world and in relationships can be so challenging and feel like too much to bear alone. It can also feel overwhelming to reach out for help or to even admit you are struggling. Whatever may bring you to therapy, I recognize the bravery and strength required to start the process. My goal is to provide a space where you will experience peace and a sense of belonging. I would love to have the opportunity to partner with you on your search for a deeper understanding of yourself and your story.

A collaborative relationship between client and clinician is essential in fostering a sense of autonomy in one’s therapy process.
Trauma can cause us to get stuck in our minds and disconnected from our bodies, which can negatively impact our relationships with ourselves and others. But a traumatic experience or difficult childhood doesn’t have to dictate the rest of your life - you can regain control of your life! I love working with motivated clients to explore the root cause of their issues in order to heal old wounds, create harmony in the mind, body and interpersonal relationships. I would be honored to teach you how a holistic approach can help you move towards a life of peace & healing.

I specialize in supporting adults experiencing ADHD, Relationship Distress, and Anxiety to feel like themselves again using CBT, mindfulness and other evidence-based and holistic approaches.
Is anxiety or past trauma making it feel like life is out of control? Maybe you’re caught in a spiral of worry or stress you can’t seem to stop, constantly second-guessing yourself or can’t seem to get motivated. Maybe you’re frustrated and exhausted by it all: feeling like you’ve done everything you know to do to get ‘over’ it, but still feeling stressed or on edge all the time. You might be seeing patterns in your relationships that you want to change or wondering what’s going on under the surface that’s causing you to continue to feel this way.

My approach is to look beneath the behaviors, working closely with parents to increase their understanding and enhance the parent-child relationship.
You’ve been trying your hardest in relationships but still feel the pain of aloneness or not finding lasting connection/s. Or, you find yourself stuck, not able to approach life with forward-moving energy or clear direction. I get it. Trauma, a difficult childhood, and/or life's inevitable disappointments, often create barriers to feeling solid within yourself & to attaining what you hope for in life. I use mind-body approaches that go beyond talk therapy to create lasting change. Together, we can identify & mend what is getting in the way of you having safe, authentic relationships or crafting a life that is more of what you want.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Somatic sex & relationship therapist, and provider of Ketamine Assisted Therapy, I have 20+ yrs of supporting clients in understanding the wisdom of the body, identifying signals that get them off track, short-circuit ineffective habits & strengthen internal states that are crucial for thriving intimate relationships.
This strange time in our world has highlighted the importance of healthy relationships for our overall happiness and health. What it’s also highlighted is that most of us don’t have the relationships we desire—the depth and authenticity, the playfulness and sense of connection are lacking for so many. Let me support you in developing your most important internal resources & using this time to not only protect but strengthen the relationships that are most dear to you. Learn to use the heightened stress of what is NOT working to train your nervous system and strengthen your hearts capacity for greater resiliency and rewarding love

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
