I specialize in working with individuals, couples, women's issues ( infertility, parenting/work issues, menopause, motherhood, grief and loss), adolescents and PTSD/trauma.
Is life currently a struggle? Do you feel anxious, sad or lonely? Do things that use to bring you joy no longer provide you happiness? Is your mental health negatively affecting your relationships, job or family life? Today we face more stressors in our lives than we ever have before. COVID 19, changes in the economy, daily uncertainty has made our lives more challenging than ever. If you feel like old coping skills are no longer working and that support from friends and family isn't enough then it's time to get outside support. Finding someone who will support you during hard times in a non-judgmental, safe space can be helpful.

Has life not turned out how you thought it would? Have the hopes, dreams, and unfulfilled expectations left you feeling empty, stuck, or with no sense of purpose or direction? Depression, anxiety, grief and loss, or questions about identity, faith, or purpose can leave us feeling paralyzed and without hope. I have experienced many of these problems in my own life and know how daunting it can be to seek help. If this is your situation, know that you have found someone who is willing to listen, care, and help you work through what has been weighing you down so that you can live a more meaningful life.

Feeling Overwhelmed, Anxious, or Burnt Out? Life can sometimes feel like you've hit a wall—anxiety, overwhelm, exhaustion, agitation, burnout, and even depression might signal that what once worked for you just isn't cutting it anymore. While it might not feel good, this moment can be the catalyst you need to begin creating the life you truly want. By facing the shadows of your past and present, you can strip them of their power. This isn't an overnight fix, but it is the beginning of your journey toward freedom and empowerment. And you don’t have to do it alone—we can work together toward healing and transformation.

I love working with individuals who are eager to find a deeper connection to self and others. Many people who decide to start therapy feel ambivalent about the process, and may feel uncertain about change in general. That is okay. They may not be ready for change and may be coming to therapy in order to first find that motivation for change. They may be highly emotionally sensitive, but have never felt understood in their sensitivity. They want to feel heard, seen, understood because these are some of our innate human needs.

How are you handling your life right now? Life can feel overwhelming creating stress, anxiety, fear, and doubt and leaving us feeling paralyzed and stuck. As we adjust to new seasons of life, there tend to be periods of the unknown with mixed emotions. Life transitions need life skills. This is more of a partnership to navigate through past wounds into a healthier, more stable, and confident future. I also walk with clients with spiritual trauma and fertility issues (including fertility treatments, IVF, miscarriage, and postpartum), as someone who has walked through this myself it's nice to have someone who "gets it".

I help people feel better. I hear clients say they feel "stuck", "unsure", "confused", "anxious" and/or "afraid". Many of them don’t feel very good about themselves. This can cause problems in their relationships, on their job, not feeling motivated or becoming unable to take joy in everyday activities. My clients typically want to make it through a day without anxiety, to not feel so sad everyday and to feel confident! I understand these experiences and have had many of them in my past. With an excellent therapist and fantastic coaches along the way, I’ve learned, healed and grown. And you can to!

Infertility Therapists

How can infertility affect couples and their relationship?

Clients who are dealing with infertility may experience conflict and communication problems. It’s not unusual for shame, blame, and guilt to arise in cases of infertility, whether the source of the problem is one partner or both. This means that clients are upset and pulling away from their partner just when they need them the most. Some clients may find it difficult to spend time around friends and family who are pregnant. Friends and family can also make hurtful comments that increase tension during this time.

How does therapy for infertility issues work?

The therapist will begin by gathering information about the client or couple and make a treatment plan for their specific concerns. In addition to addressing common mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma reactions or PTSD, therapists can help clients improve their decision-making and deal with stressors unique to infertility. Some examples include coping with the “two-week wait” before a pregnancy test, the distress associated with a failed attempt or miscarriage, and the shame and blame sometimes associated with reproductive concerns.

What type of therapy is best for infertility issues?

Many therapists offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility issues. Some helpful therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which can aid clients in reframing negative thoughts about their situation. Expressive writing and art therapy can help clients process difficult feelings. Clients might also benefit from group therapy to experience support from others who are dealing with the same problems.

How long does therapy for infertility issues take?

There is no set length for therapy that addresses infertility or reproductive concerns. Some clients might find it helpful to continue therapy during their pregnancy to have healthy ways to cope with any associated stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma. Some clients who decide not to pursue fertility treatments might benefit from the support of a therapist. The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual client’s specific needs and goals.
