I’ve guided many individuals through their fears, helping them reclaim their lives and break free from anxiety’s grip.
Are you grappling with depression, anxiety or the aftermath of a traumatic experience? It’s normal to feel overwhelmed, alone, and uncertain about finding relief. You don’t have to face this journey alone.

Do you feel a loss of identity, purpose, sense of self, or interest in life? Are you dissatisfied with your goals, your job, or your relationships? Do you struggle with sadness, anxiety, disturbing thoughts, hallucinations, or self destructive behavior? Have you experienced a trauma that has shattered your sense of the world? Just like physical pain indicates that something may be wrong with our bodies, psychological problems tell us that we are suffering on a deep, emotional level. Anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and other symptoms are signs that we are experiencing psychological pain for an underlying reason.

The focus of my work has been around trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, family issues, and more.
As parents, often face several pain points when considering therapy for their child, such as concerns about stigma, fear of labeling, uncertainty about the therapeutic process, and worries about the child's comfort and willingness to participate. At Creative Counseling in Colorado, we address these concerns by providing a warm, non-judgmental environment where children feel safe and understood. We use a personalized approach, incorporating play, art, and other creative therapies to make sessions engaging and non-intimidating.

I have 6 years of experience working with adults, children, and adolescents with eating disorders, anxiety, and depression.
Therapy is your opportunity to discover and uncover the best things about yourself, while facing the things that might be getting in the way. I’d like to think of myself as your guide through self-compassion, acceptance, and a better relationship with yourself and your body. I support individuals and their families who feel suffocated by their inner critic, anxiety, overwhelm, poor body image, depression, doubt, and fear. Through the use of IFS, ACT, CBT, DBT, and deep self-compassion work, I support adolescents and young adults in becoming their truest, most authentic selves.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
