Chetney Nelsen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Colorado who has been practicing since 2004. He has an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado State University. Chetney works with individuals, couples, and families for a variety of presenting issues, such as infidelity, domestic violence, parenting and child problems, sex and gender issues, and most especially, trauma. Chetney uses Evidence-based protocols in his practice, primarily Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy and EMDR, and he is trained in several others. He has specialized training in sex therapy.

I have been passionate about psychology and helping others for as long as I can remember. One of my early passions became to destigmatize mental health care. Mental health is just as important as physical health. My professional background includes working in K-12 public schools, supporting children and families in outpatient clinics and adoption social work. Achieving a sense of balance feels nearly impossible with the chaotic demands of daily life.
