For as long back as I can remember, I have believed in the power and importance of relationships. Relationships are at the heart of who we are, how we grow, and who we become. In our early years, our closest relationships teach us how to be with others and influence how we see the world. Although we may learn one way to be in relationship when we are a child, our attachment style can also be changed through our current relationships no matter what our age, which can then allow us to choose with intention how we parent, support, and relate to our children.

I have worked in the field of psychology for 40 years and I appreciate the courage it takes to make that initial call for help. They have trouble coordinating different aspects of themselves and their relationship(s), so that needs are met satisfactorily, They see themselves as a wholistic person, and recognize that body, mind and spirit work together within them to create and heal their experiences. Throughout my training as a therapist there were two phrases that impacted my understanding of the therapy process: "You are the expert on the process and your client is the expert on their story, pain, thoughts, and feelings" & "The client is the key to their own success."
