I specialize in working with young adults and college/grad students with anxiety disorders, OCD, skin picking, trauma, and depression. If your days are consumed by anxiety, spiraling/intrusive thoughts, or shame, you don't have to "tough it out" or figure it out on your own. I support clients in taking back the power from this distress in order to ultimately live more fulfilling lives. In this process, I aim to help clients explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are associated with distress and keep clients “stuck.”

I have worked with individuals who have struggled with trauma, addiction, and mental health struggles for the last 10 years. I have seen the damage that can occur when we attempt to carry these burdens alone. I hope to help. To support you in building connections, addressing trauma, and finding more adaptive ways to get what you want and need out of your life. As a licensed addictions counselor (LAC) and certified sex addictions therapist (CSAT), I understand how we may have come by coping mechanisms that may be hurting more than helping. I can work with you to address the core issues and build new ways to take care of yourself.

The effect that physical trauma, from sudden injury to chronic pain and more, can have on our emotional wellbeing is profound. Often, these experiences result in identity loss, isolation, depression, anxiety, and beyond. Simultaneously, the impact that our emotional wellbeing can have on our physical healing is equally as profound. It is one that often feels defeating and keeps us stuck in an exhausting pain loop. Through deepening the mind-body connection and processing trauma, loss, change, and fear, I support individuals on their wellbeing journey.

One of my life's goals was to live in the mountains. I'm an Iowa gal who spent many summers touring the West. So, when given the chance, I moved to Southwest Colorado. I loved mountain life. My dogs and I spent many days hiking with some four-wheeling and fishing thrown in. I worked at a Durango women's shelter and then became a clinical supervisor at Peaceful Spirit Southern Ute Treatment Center in Ignacio. I worked there for ten years and became better acquainted with some of the Native spiritual practices. Since graduating from college, I have made it my life's mission to help others improve their lives.

I specialize in working with children/adolescents/young adults with developmental disabilities and/or cognitive impairments. My goal is to help indiviudals and their families make connections between difficult behaviors and their underlying causes, and to find interventions that work well for the family. I believe that assessing and identifying strengths in both the client and the family is just as important as identifying the problems.

I know how difficult the search for a therapist can be. It feels like there's a lot riding on making the right choice, but there's so much uncertainty about what the right choice even entails. Of course you want a professional who seems qualified to address your specific areas of struggle, but it seems to me that the most healing aspect of therapy is the experience of feeling comfortable enough to be radically open with a therapist who you perceive to be compassionate, nonjudgmental, and real. Try to find someone you feel you can click with on an authentic human level; otherwise, it's likely to feel transactional and limiting.

With over five years of experience in the mental health field, I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. My education, combined with my lived experiences, has profoundly shaped my perspective on the world. I am deeply committed to helping others navigate their personal experiences and understand the broader political and systemic forces that impact their lives—both positively and negatively. I believe in the power of community to confront these realities, challenge the status quo, and raise awareness among those who may not yet fully understand these dynamics.
