I have a private practice that focuses on individual therapy and psychological assessment. In addition to conducting psychological evaluations for immigration, asylum, and other forensic purposes, I work with people who are searching for meaning, coping with loss, struggling with relationship issues or adjusting to the process of returning from international aid work or assignments. I have also worked with Doctors Without Borders and the Center for Victims of Torture and have written about and lectured on a wide range of topics including global mental health, vicarious trauma, and staff welfare.

I enjoy working with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I enjoy helping them find solutions to whatever challenges life is presenting them with. For some people, this may mean that they need only a few sessions, or what I call a"minor tune-up", before they are back on course with their lives. For others, this may mean more in-depth therapy to help find solutions to problems that have persisted over many years. And yet for others, they may not have any problems at all to solve per se.

I have 19 yrs experience treating a range of conditions and concerns, including difficulty coping with medical conditions, adherence issues with medical recommendations, difficulty adjusting to medical and/or psychiatric diagnoses, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, behavioral challenges in children, ADHD, parenting challenges and stress, co-parenting issues, transitioning from youth to adulthood, academic and job stress, life stress, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, marital issues, and trauma. I also have experience conducting psychological testing for diagnostic clarification and treatment planning.

Viewing my role in clients’ lives as a privilege, I approach my work with warmth, candor, and a genuine belief in one's potential for growth. I provide therapy for individuals across the lifespan. Difficulties in adulthood often stem from longstanding patterns of relating to ourselves and others that are no longer serving us. Through greater awareness of these patterns and our internal emotional world, we are better able to cope and connect.

Dr. Nicole Wallace is a Licensed Psychologist who earned Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology. She earned her BS in Psychology and Spanish and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University. Her graduate training focused on Child and Family Intervention and Assessment. Dr. Wallace completed an intensive pre-doctoral internship program in Pediatric Psychology at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She gained specialized training in Pediatric Neuropsychological assessment during a two year Post-Doctoral Fellowship program at Advanced Neurobehavioral Health of Southern California.

She received her Ph.D. in Child, Family, and School Psychology from the University of Denver, and her M.A in Educational Psychology from the University of Colorado. Her experience and expertise represent a blend of both clinical and school-based delivery, with a focus on neuropsychological assessment and evidence-based intervention. Dr. Manion completed pre-doctoral training in pediatric neuropsychology at Children’s Hospital Colorado, in addition to completing an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship in neuropsychology at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI.

I have a specialty in trauma but work with a broad range of individuals including those struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues and existential concerns. I integrate psychodynamic and mindfulness approaches in the work I do with clients. I not only think it is important to understand how the past impacts the present and to make the unconscious, conscious but I believe that it is equally important to help clients learn to pay attention to thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and breath in the present moment so that they can better understand, tolerate, and ultimately move beyond, their distress.

She completed pre-doctoral training in assessment, therapy, pediatric primary care, postpartum depression, and infant development through the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Aurora. She completed an American Psychological Association accredited internship training program in child clinical and pediatric psychology through the Children’s Hospital of Orange County Pediatric Psychology Department in Orange, California.
