I specialize in a wide variety of concerns including but not limited to: substance use, depression/anxiety, trauma stemming from violence, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. Our approach utilizes the biopsychosocial approach to evaluation and treatment; this means we strive to understand the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence the health and wellness of our clients. Our services are often referred to as "behavioral medicine" or "medical psychology;" this is due to taking a holistic approach in our treatment considering the whole person - physical, mental, emotional, and social. We often work collaboratively with other professions such as primary care physicians, occupational therapists, social workers, chaplains, and others who are important to one's individual network of care.

Hello! My name is Laura X. Williams, and I am a Licensed Addiction Counselor and Relational Psychotherapist in the Denver area. My ideal clients are those who seek to explore potential in their own identity and relationships with an emphasis on love, sexual health, and gender. My training for my doctorate was in child and family clinical practice and I obtained post-doctoral training in forensic psychology. I also received over 300 hour of training at the Neurosculpting Institute. In addition to my clinical and forensic practice, I have provided consultation services in such settings as Head Start, Federal Corrections, and Child Protection Services and for agencies serving the developmentally disabled. A large part of my practice has always included providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents, couples, and families. I have been married for over 30 years and have seven children.
