I believe that curiosity heals, that healing comes from approaching our lives with greater openness & non-judgement. I work with individuals and couples/intimate relationships impacted by trauma, relationship issues, chronic illness, grief, & identity exploration. Using a caring and direct approach, I support clients to gain deeper understanding, increase emotional regulation, & use more effective conflict management strategies. I believe that our world often makes it seem like we need to be fixed when really we need trust, connection, and tools to cultivate desired change within ourselves and our relationships.

I believe that a collaborative relationship between the therapist and the client is essential for a positive therapy experience. I believe that healing begins with social connectivity and relationship. In therapy, we may focus on thought patterns, relational dynamics, reframing negative thought patterns, building insight into past relational patterns, and creating more fulfilling patterns of relating to others. We may consider how cultural and systemic factors have impacted both your relationships and beliefs about yourself. I also provide EMDR for clients who have experienced trauma or feel stuck in past memories.

I love working with women and queer couples who are seeking to become more empowered in their sex lives, relationships and reconnecting to their pleasure. Do you desire experiences in relationships that are tender, connected, compassionate and uplifting? I work with couples who want to strengthen the foundation of their relationship(s) and mend the cracks. I also work with individuals within their intersection of identities to reclaim an embodied experience of what it means to belong in this world and feel genuine pleasure in their bodies. Another speciality of mine is working with women looking to feel more empowered after trauma.

Are you ready for a change, and lost about how to make it? Many of us spend a lot of our lives struggling with what should be and the challenges of what is not. Whether it be substance use, relationship orientation and desires, grief, issues of depression and anxiety, or something else that is bothering you, I hope to co-create a journey in which you can allow yourself to let down, reflect, and gain skills to change the aspects of your life that you want to see improve or shift. *I believe access to mental health care should be a basic human right and provide reduced fee services, please inquire.*

I work with individuals, couples and families regarding anxiety and depression, medical issues, life and loss, addiction, trauma, relationship distress.
Life isn't always easy. Even happy occasions can cause emotional stress and anxiety. Utilizing resources such as counseling doesn't mean you are weak or flawed. Instead, it is a sign of courage and awareness that you believe life doesn't have to be this hard and you are willing to do the work to create change. As a client-focused therapist, my primary objective is to provide a safe and trust-worthy environment where, with warmth and compassion, I will guide you through the exploration of your struggles and help you create a more fulfilling life.

Feeling disconnected and tired of having the same conversations with your partner over and over without reaching a resolution can be taxing on your relationship. I help couples who would like to transform their communication skills, resolve conflicts, and feel connected to their partner again. I also work with individuals who are looking for a safe place to process and heal their pain from past trauma and relationships, that want to move forward feeling confident and empowered, but are unsure where to start.

Hi! I’m glad you’re here. Seeking help can feel scary, overwhelming, and vulnerable. Let’s get right to it and see if you think we’d be a good fit. I am a counselor that approaches therapy in a calm, compassionate, nonjudgmental way. I find humor and laughter to be among the most healing things humans can share. I work to empower my clients while keeping them accountable to their personal goals for growth. Radically loving, understanding, and accepting yourself will always be a goal as that is our primary relationship from which all others are able to flourish.

I especially pay attention to the relationship that develops over time between myself and clients as it can often provide a very rich growth experience.
Our capacity to connect, both with ourselves (i.e. our passions, feelings, and body) and with others, is crucial to our feelings of well-being. When we connect, we generally feel a sense of aliveness in ourselves and the world. When we can't connect, we feel anxious, isolated, empty, or depressed. I feel my job is to help clients to more fully connect to the range of their experiences. I help adults, adolescents, and couples explore why they lose connection. I help them identify, understand, and overcome the deep root of their disconnection. I help them find well-being, which gives me great joy.

I work exclusively with Men and with Couples. My work is focused on creating the relationship in which feelings can be shared fluidly, where the space itself that we all have created together fosters the communication and honesty that will be the bedrock of the work that will follow. All is welcome, there is no judgement and no criticism. The power for change exists within all of us and together we can find, fostered and or reveal that power.

I believe that therapy is a collaboration, and that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of successful therapeutic outcomes.
You deserve to feel safe in your mind, body and environment. If you've dealt with trauma, interpersonal conflict, or emotionally distressing experiences, this sense of safety may be unfamiliar. I specialize in helping individuals heal from trauma associated with intimate partner violence, emotional abuse, sexual assault, and childhood abuse. I also have a deep understanding of intersectionality and approach therapy through a culturally responsive lens; taking into consideration the impact of systems of oppression, experiences of marginalization and historical/racial trauma. I am dedicated to serving BIPOC and LGBTQ communities :)

I also work with individuals struggling with relationship concerns and life transitions.
Although we all need support, it can be very difficult to ask for help. I strive to create a collaborative, respectful, and supportive environment in order to address your challenges, determine your goals, and achieve the personal changes you want to make.

I have enjoyed a long career working with children, adolescents & adults in a variety of settings (schools, residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics). As a therapist at Jewish Family Service, I see a variety of clients who are addressing issues related to depression, anxiety, family/relationship/parenting problems, adolescence, past trauma, etc. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral and supportive therapy, with an emphasis on Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, to help my clients discover new & effective ways to manage their emotions, cope with life's stresses, and take committed actions to attain their goals.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
