Brenda Ferguson is a licensed professional counselor. Brenda uses the client's strengths to assist with current issues they may be having difficulty moving through. Her patients can expect a reliable and solution-focused partnership throughout their journey of healing. She is empathetic, clear, flexible, honest, and approachable. Brenda uses solution-focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and EMDR. Her goal is to support clients so that they are able to continue engaging in a life that is healthy and meaningful.

I work as an eclectic therapist, using client centered therapy, family systems therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques. I provide a non-judjmental empathetic approach to counseling. When working with families; It is my belief that if one person in a system makes a change then the whole family system will change. In my work with individuals, I assist my clients in determining underlying fears that may be causing anxiety and depression; so that they can begin the healing process. I hope to empower each of my clients so that they can overcome the obstacles and struggles in their lives.

I believe therapy is a powerful tool for healing and growth. I am committed to building a safe and open space that allows all people to show up fully and authentically. My genuine curiosity, compassion, direct feedback, and desire to uplift individuals’ inherent strengths guide my practice.

Just a few years ago I was caught up in a cycle of self-doubt, shame, and failure. I was early on in adulthood and already I felt completely worn out; convinced my life would end in ruins. Eventually I was able to seek counseling, and this became a major factor in helping me find a new sense of hope and freedom. I became a counselor out of a desire to share this gift with others. I seek to create a safe space where my clients can find new hope in their journey. When you walk into my office, I want you to know that you are welcome here; you belong, and you matter.

I like to create an environment that encourages self- awareness and promotes lasting change. I believe that we all have potential to obtain fulfillment. My goal as the therapist is to help support, empower, and advise so that you may achieve your goals and reach your fullest potential. Life can be hard and complicated, and each of our experiences are unique. Which is why I like to organize my orientation around my clients so that they can get the most out of our time. My intention is to create a nonjudgmental, collaborative space where my clients can unpack their truths and begin to heal.

I specialize in treating codependency, compassionate boundary setting, and helping you find your voice.

My straight-forward approach, coupled with gentle humor and empathy, helps my clients learn to broaden their sense of self and develop meaningful relationships.
