Everyone deserves a life that is healthy, happy and loving. And yet, creating a balanced life in the midst of stress and chaos can be challenging! Are you a new parent struggling to adjust to your new role and all of your new responsibilities? Are you in a relationship and could use some support navigating the complex terrain of communication, connection, and love? Or perhaps you or your child is dealing with anxiety, depression, or grief?

Anxiety, depression, fogginess, poor sleep, symptoms associated with PTSD, ADD and more can all block you from feeling your best and is frustrating and can feel hopeless at times.
Do you feel like you are surviving your life and not creating it? Have you felt stuck and unable to access who you know inside, you truly are? There are many things that prevent us from showing up fully. Often times it is our physiology that is driving the bus, and not what we think or that we are not trying. Think about when we live too much in the past or are fearful of the future, this can block us. Or, no matter what you try or medication you take, you just can't sleep, which creates a cascade of problems from inattention to reactivity, to an inability to be present with those we love. Each of us deserves a life of joy.

If you feel stuck in patterns of self-sabotage, experience flashbacks, anxiety, depression and/or low self-esteem, please reach out.
In my first years in the field, I noticed the trend of individuals understanding their patterns of self-sabotage but still feeling unable to break these as the therapeutic work they have done was all cognitive and therefore, had not resulted in a heart change. People would be able to understand from a logical sense that they had worth for example, but struggled to feel worthy or treat themselves as having value in spite of having engaged in therapy for years. To address this, I pursued continued education in order to better help these particular clients.

I believe most problems we experience are caused by a combination of two factors; carrying around too much from the past, and not taking good care of ourselves. The symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Abuse can all manifest from not cleaning up the past and from practicing poor self care in in the present. Using a variety of approaches including, Psychotherapy, Hypnosis, EMDR, and Process Work, we will together to shift this balance. As people get better at nurturing themselves and begin to let go of the weight of the past, they feel better.

My areas of focus include improving communication skills and conflict resolution, deepened understanding of emotions, increase distress tolerance, mindfulness, working through anxiety, depression and improving relationships.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is a collaborative one built on trust, empathy, and an understanding of the clients goals. Everyone has the power within themselves to discover and become the person they are truly meant to be. I gravitate toward a person-centered existential-humanistic approach. I work with my clients to help them reconnect with their most authentic self, find balance in their lives, and discover their higher purpose and calling.

As a generalist, I enjoy providing therapy for a broad variety of presenting concerns, such as trauma, relationship distress, performance issues at work or in school, and many diagnoses, such as anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and more.
Sometimes people come to therapy with a specific concern: fear of commitment, grief, a bad habit. Other times, they have difficulty putting to words what they are experiencing, but something doesn't feel quite right. Together with my clients, we decide our focus, our goals, and the direction we take. Whether you know what brings you in or not, we'll figure it out together. I offer psychotherapy, generally 50-minute sessions, though frequency and length of sessions are flexible. My current hourly rate is $170. I also offer psychological and cognitive evaluations for a flat fee. Please reach out if you would like more information.

I strive to serve the community around me and advocate for those who are in need. I focus on psychotherapeutic models to aid individuals in understanding the role their brain plays in treatment. Educating individuals about brain structure, function, development, and explaining how neurobiology can be applied to individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, and other disorders. Interpersonal neurobiology of human development aids us to understand that structure & function of the mind & brain are shaped by our experiences especially involving emotional relationships.
