My client-centered approach is committed to helping individuals grow and heal from various emotional and behavioral challenges by implementing body-mind re-integration, mindfulness based skills, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy; targeting self-destructive thought patterns and behaviors preventing growth and emotional health.
I have over 10 years experience in the field of trauma with emphasis on sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, interpersonal/relational conflict and life transitions. I received my BA and MA from Naropa University in Boulder, CO which has a philosophy rooted in the belief that all individuals have the tools within themselves to heal from even the most difficult of experiences. My therapeutic foundation is rooted in this same philosophy. My ideal client is anyone eager to reclaim who they truly are with curiosity, compassion and raw vulnerability. By discovering this inner truth, they are set free.

The therapeutic modalities that I utilize in my practice are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Social Rhythm Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention.
Therapy gives us the chance to see ourselves, our relationships, and the world in a different way. Therapy also helps us build the skills necessary to achieve our goals. My approach to therapy is collaborative, goal oriented, and focused on building a strong therapeutic relationship that creates and environment of trust and respect that allows us to grow and solve problems together. Challenges always look the most difficult when you are facing them alone and I want to be there to help you when you’re facing your biggest challenges.

Utilizing CBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy approaches allows you, the client to have total control over the coarse of treatment.
I'm Cassie (she/they), and I would describe myself as a nurturer who strives to create a therapeutic space in which children, adolescents, and adults can feel safe and seen. I am trained in Art Therapy, as well as Play Therapy (yes, online works too!). I believe the capacity to heal is within us already, and the therapeutic relationship can reminds us of our own strength.

We look at cognitive distortions and develop new neuron-pathways by questioning negative thoughts and feelings.
To lose faith in yourself, the future, the healing force of the human spirit is a terrible tragedy. In my work with adolescents and adults, our task is to re-ignite that vital life force. Through reexamining the past we remove old blocks, make sense of today's issues and work through self-destructive patterns. My training in Humanistic Psychotherapy and Jungian studies,EMDR, Family Systems Theory and Focusing enable me to draw from a wide range of interventions and interpretations. I also have worked extensively in the realm of addictions and eating disorders using a 12 step model.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as it has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications.
Deciding to seek therapy can be a daunting task and I believe that having a safe space to process your unique experiences is the key to reducing the anxiety that can accompany starting therapy, and promote personal growth and healing. I believe therapy should be a collaborative experience and we should work together to achieve your personal goals.

Waitlist for new clients
Through the use of CBT, narrative therapy, and ACT, I work to help clients feel empowered and make lasting change.
Does your worry or self-doubt get in the way of what you want? Does anxiety or people-pleasing keep you from advocating for yourself? Would you like to change your relationship with food and your body? If yes, then I would love to get to know you more and see if I can help you rediscover your strengths, power, and solidify your authentic voice. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, eating disorders, and self-esteem issues that stem from life's overwhelm and pressures. I invite clients to question their engrained self-perceptions to envision and create a life rooted in confidence and the knowledge of their self-worth.

I emphasize a collaborative, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, & holistic approach to therapy.
“I feel like I spend more time avoiding conflict than saying what I truly feel.” “I’m surviving instead of thriving." “I feel like difficult experiences in my past are holding me back.” “I’m under so much pressure, I can't take it anymore." It doesn't have to stay this way! I want to help you create balance, authenticity, and joy in your life.

I have advanced training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat OCD, anxiety disorders and depression.
Do your obsessions and compulsions impact your daily life, leaving you feeling exhausted? Do you feel dragged down by self-defeating thoughts? Are you struggling to move past those challenging, or even traumatic experiences? I understand that living with the invisible burden of OCD, depression, anxiety, trauma, and even navigating life transitions can be an isolating and scary experience. You are not alone in how you are feeling. My top priority as a therapist is for clients to feel comfortable working with me, and for you to see sustained positive change from our work together.

My experience includes 8 1/2 years as faculty at The University of Illinois, Anxiety and Mood Disorder clinic, specializing in cognitive behavior treatment for both children and adults.
I am particularly trained in working with adults and children who suffer from persistent obsessions, compulsions, social anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and chronic worry and/or stress. Many individuals I see also have other issues that are also addressed as part of the therapy. Cognitive behavior therapy is an excellent treatment for these issues, which often empowers the individual to get better control using specific tools and an individualized plan tailored to their needs. Therapy tends to be relatively short term with maintenance or follow up sessions as needed to ensure individuals maintain their gains.
