I use several evidence based practices: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) & Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma; Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT); mindfulness & relaxation techniques.
I’ve always been moved by humans’ ability to heal and grow through challenging times. I’m excited to engage with clients that are ready to be vulnerable, and dive into therapy to learn, grow, heal, and change. I look forward to helping clients that have felt paralyzed by fear and anxiety to feel free and more fully experience life. Clients that apply what we talked about between sessions and put in effort to practice recommended exercises/interventions often see significant change quickly.

I utilize a multifaceted approach that includes psychodynamic psychotherapy and systems theory as well as evidence based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
It can be overwhelming to reach out and seek help. We so often find ourselves feeling stuck, anxious, or depressed, and not knowing what to do or how to help ourselves feel better. I have over 14 years experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. I love working with people who are experiencing life changes to help people live authentically as themselves, even in periods of stress or transition. My practice is characterized by a collaborative, compassionate, and insight-driven approach.

My primary therapy methods derive from Cognitive Behavior principles, especially changing that pesky negative self-talk and altering behavior patterns that impede our progress, confidence, etc.
I approach a client's concerns from a here and now, rapid change perspective. I believe that when we take action to improve ourselves or our circumstances, our attitude and feelings follow suit. I have been in clinical practice for 20 years, and have worked with many types of people and almost every kind of problem. I strive to balance empathy and sensitivity with helping people to move forward in the change process.

DBT combines cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness skills, giving participants the opportunity to learn: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, & Interpersonal Effectiveness.
Life can be hard, and no one knows this better than adolescents, young adults, and the families who love and support them. Intense emotions; urges to engage in impulsive behaviors; navigating social situations and the stress of school; difficulty getting along with parents; the politics of Snapchat, etc! The instability of this time of life offers both challenge and opportunity. Therapy can support young people to harness the chaotic yet formative nature of this time as a catalyst for lasting wellness and growth: Explore one's identity; develop effective coping strategies, practice interpersonal relationship, heal trauma, and more.

I draw from an array of modalities including CBT, ACT, attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and IPT.
My practice is informed by my eclectic educational background, eastern and indigenous teachings, and the body’s innate sense of wisdom. I consider myself to be a warm, grounding individual, and am here to learn from you and walk with you on your mental health journey. I have learned a great deal about the ‘mind-body split’ and the reality that modern therapy often leaves the body and spirit out of the picture, much to our detriment. I work with clients to begin building relationships with their bodies, nervous systems, and greater selves, with the goal of increased coping skills, embodiment, resiliency and neuroplasticity.
