Hardships and trauma are often isolating and leave us seeking community and connection. Bell Hooks shared the words "Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion". Seeking therapy can be overwhelming, but your healing does not have to happen alone. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with a variety of challenges such as but not limited to: anxiety, depression, relational issues, self-esteem, identity exploration, social injustices, and trauma. I am committed to helping clients heal and grow while fostering resilience and empowerment.

The world has become a stressful place and while it has always been stressful, we have less community and connection. These times have really put a strain on us as individuals, our relationships, our families, our jobs/school and created overwork, stress, and trauma. Honestly, doing healthy relationship and navigating stress and trauma are not skills we have been equipped with. Therapy has become the space to learn those skills, navigate stress, do self care, live presently in life, and process the trauma that's historical and present in our day to day.

I have a true passion for helping people experience health and wellness in their relationships and in their lives overall. I believe that when our relationships are healthy, we create an environment that allows us to live more freely and more openly share ourselves with others. I understand the loneliness that develops when partners lose their close connection to each other and how frustrating it can be to have the same argument over and over again. I can help you understand your patterns, change them and create the type of relationships you've been longing for.

While therapy is becoming more and more socially acceptable, it can still be a nerve-racking process to begin therapy or start with a new therapist. I will not make you talk about anything you are not ready to discuss but by the end of our first session we will hopefully create a plan to support your goals and objectives.  I am very adaptable to differencing needs and want to create a style of interaction that works best for who you are and what you find supportive.  With that said, I do tend to use humor when appropriate but cannot guarantee the caliber of said humor:). I look forward to speaking with you soon!

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression/grief, or frustration/anger? I am optimistic we can work together to reduce these symptoms, so that you can move forward with renewed confidence and hope. Changes of life issues: death of a loved-one; marriage/divorce; loss of good health; financial concerns; or problems with relationships, often precipitate these symptoms in many people. Yet, these painful situations also present wonderful opportunities for reflection, personal growth, and resolution.

Asking for help is one of the scariest, and therefore most courageous things you can do. Together, we will explore all the elements of who you are and discover your inner strength, wisdom, and clarity. I am a relationship driven therapist who uses a blend of modalities including AEDP, mindfulness, IFS, and narrative therapy. Whether your goals are to improve your relationship with yourself and others, live a life that is more full of meaning and joy, or to heal from grief and loss, I create an authentic space to support and challenge you in this process.

Childhood is hard. Being a parent is hard. I work with individuals from infants (and their caregivers) to adults to help with these important and challenging life stages. Oftentimes we do not realize we have patterns of behavior that at one time protected us, yet now cause ourselves more harm. Through our work together, you will gain greater insight and understanding of these unhelpful cycles and your own life experiences, so you can create meaningful change in your life.

I strongly believe in the human capacity for resilience, healing, and transformation and I am passionate about tailoring therapy to fit the individual and their strengths. Most of all though I genuinely care and invest myself in the people I serve, I have worked with clients experiencing a variety of conditions such as panic disorder, sexual/physical abuse, anxiety/depression, disturbing memories, trauma, stress reduction, and addiction. I am however particularly passionate in providing therapy to the LGBTQ+ community, a population in which individuals are statistically more likely to experience a mental health condition.

We all have a journey and a purpose for our life. As a Mental Health Therapist and Life/Health coach, I work with adolescents, families, couples, and adults (age 13+) that are seeking additional support and guidance as they continue on their journey. I am currently working towards my LCSW licensure under supervision. I have experience in working with trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, anxiety, depression, and clients who just want to feel "unstuck."

I view therapy as a collaborative process where we work together to reach your goal(s). Together we will identify the problem(s) and figure out a solution. I work with both long-term and short-term issues. Sometimes skills and practice are needed to change the current way of doing things, and other times information or deeper self-exploration is helpful.

I prioritize striking a balance between thoughtfulness and intentionality, while allowing space for ease and flow. I specialize in working with young adults and adults who are interested in exploring identity development, interpersonal relationship issues, and life transitions. You might be struggling in the most important relationships in your life, or trying to find a way out of feeling stagnant. Perhaps it's been confusing to be you lately, and you want to explore different parts of yourself. Through creating a safe and strong connection, we can be curious about these things together.

Our daily lives can be hectic and challenging. They can even lead to feelings of overwhelm and exhaustion. These challenges might include current or past trauma, loss in any of its forms, major life transitions, fear or anxiety, or just an every day life experience. In these situations, we may want extra support and assistance to navigate through them. Life’s challenges can be difficult but don’t have to be unmanageable. I believe we all have the ability to grow, heal, and change our lives. Therapy can be one resource to support your healing journey and, as your therapist, I will walk this path with you.

I support you as you navigate toward your ideal life and provide tools to overcome difficult life experiences, expectations and relational or cultural stressors. Our work will help you develop and maintain healthy relationships, develop positive coping strategies, shift thinking and behaviors, or come into a confident self. My approach is an integration of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral modalities, which means I will explore the way you experienced the world from birth until present in order to identify habits and behaviors that have become roadblocks to living in alignment with the person you want to be.

I'm here to help you release ideas of who you 'should' be as you embrace and make space for who you really are. Unfinished mental and emotional energy patterns of past experiences can resurface in painful ways, limiting our ability to be present and dimming our light. By exploring this pain with conscious intention we encounter our soul's greatest lessons, our richest opportunities for growth, and deep personal transformation. It takes tremendous courage to examine our reality and decide something needs to change. Together we will work to remove barriers to joy and peace while reigniting an excitement for your life.
