I believe that curiosity heals, that healing comes from approaching our lives with greater openness & non-judgement. I work with individuals and couples/intimate relationships impacted by trauma, relationship issues, chronic illness, grief, & identity exploration. Using a caring and direct approach, I support clients to gain deeper understanding, increase emotional regulation, & use more effective conflict management strategies. I believe that our world often makes it seem like we need to be fixed when really we need trust, connection, and tools to cultivate desired change within ourselves and our relationships.

I have over 10 years experience in the field of trauma with emphasis on sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, interpersonal/relational conflict and life transitions. I received my BA and MA from Naropa University in Boulder, CO which has a philosophy rooted in the belief that all individuals have the tools within themselves to heal from even the most difficult of experiences. My therapeutic foundation is rooted in this same philosophy. My ideal client is anyone eager to reclaim who they truly are with curiosity, compassion and raw vulnerability. By discovering this inner truth, they are set free.

I believe in the transformative power of a wide range of emotions, the sanctuary of safety, and the simple but profound impact of understanding. My therapeutic approach to our time together is founded on the principle that each person is the expert of their own life, and my role is to guide and facilitate the process of discovery. Together we can identify what isn’t working, make steps towards positive change, and explore the inner world without shame or blame, because all parts of you are always welcome.

Our culture can place extreme and undue pressure on us to perform at extremely high levels, whether in our jobs, our relationships, or our families. Many times these expectations require us to ignore the limitations of being human, and as a result, we live with a persistent fear of not being enough. Relearning how to work with our limitations, rather than ignoring them, is the path to finding our happiness and fulfillment, yet requires us to address courageously much of what we have been taught and believed about ourselves.

We need to feel to heal. I believe this to be true, and I’m also aware of how much easier said than done this process is. For many of us, disconnecting from our emotions, needs, and desires is how we’ve learned to protect ourselves from feeling the full weight of painful experiences in our life. I help teens and adults who have experienced trauma of any kind break free from these protective measures and begin to heal from trauma and its lingering effects. For my clients, these effects often show up as anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-harm, relationship difficulties, or a combo of all of the above.

I enjoy helping clients to actualize their potential, find their voice, and manage their symptoms. Feelings are meant to be felt. Even the hard ones like anxiety, sadness, loneliness, irritability, and overwhelm are normal and healthy. But sometimes we can find ourselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and unsure about how to move forward. Therapy can teach us skills to acknowledge, befriend, move through, and release difficult feelings. I would be honored to provide you with support, insight, and a path to find your inner resilience. Together, we can process the hard stuff that creates anxiety, insecurity, relationship problems, and mood difficulties, and lead to your discovery and growth.

I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and couples from all different backgrounds, across race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, and ability. I have particular empathy and compassion for any client who feels their path in life has not followed that of the majority or who have felt marginalized in some way. I also have extensive experience in working with adolescents and adults in the LGBTQ community in therapy. I believe therapy should be collaborative between myself and clients - I bring education and training to our therapy and you bring the most expertise on yourself.

With recent neurological and attachment research, we are finding how connected the mind and body really are. We are also finding how important for a person's well-being it is to understand one’s identity and how we each fit in the world. I partner with my clients to develop a felt sense of security within themselves and the world. This felt sense is what will create the necessary resiliency to ensure a person can work through struggles that have been holding them back. Much of my background involves working with the Neuro-Diverse community and the LGBTQIA+ community.
