I am here to support you in your sexual challenges. As an AASECT-certified sex therapist, I've dedicated my career to providing expert knowledge and compassionate guidance to individuals and couples struggling with aspects of their sexuality, including shame, trauma, physical pain, and loss. The people I work with courageously seek to find greater connection with their pleasure, desire, and a sense of ease and comfort in their bodies. I'm so honored to be trusted with these intimate aspects of my clients' lives, and I respect their trust by pursuing excellence as a clinician and holding their stories with great care.

My training for my doctorate was in child and family clinical practice and I obtained post-doctoral training in forensic psychology. I also received over 300 hour of training at the Neurosculpting Institute. In addition to my clinical and forensic practice, I have provided consultation services in such settings as Head Start, Federal Corrections, and Child Protection Services and for agencies serving the developmentally disabled. A large part of my practice has always included providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents, couples, and families. I have been married for over 30 years and have seven children.

Sexual intimacy is an important component of human connection, and feeling stuck in recurring patterns of conflict, shame, or feeling misunderstood can have a significant impact on relationships, self-esteem, and overall wellbeing. As a sex therapist with advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I understand how difficult it can be to navigate these sensitive topics with yourself and with partners. I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where you are able to disrupt cycles of conflict, strengthen intimacy and communication skills, and deepen understanding of wants, needs, and desires.

As relational beings, the experience of feeling connected to our authentic self and that of others is essential to wellness. Investigating the multi-layered stories that are told about us, which often inform how we view ourselves, is critical to finding alternative ways of stepping into the power of our truths. Exploring, and interrogating, the messages that are intimately tied to culture, ancestry, and community can offer wisdom necessary in addressing problems in living folks experience. Whether seeking individual, relational, or family therapy, I believe the healing journey is inherently a collective one.

I also see adults with unconventional relationships and sexual identities or preferences. A warm but no-nonsense approach is provided using a range of styles and techniques to meet your individual needs. This can include emotionally focused, art therapy, solution focused, goal-oriented, and motivational interviewing, just to name a few. The most important thing is collaborating together to find what is right for you to help you heal and reach your goals.

Queer Asterisk is a queer and trans-led 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in Colorado. We provide outpatient individual, relational, family and group counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and relationships of all configurations. Our diverse team of compassionate, affirming mental health providers and graduate-level clinical interns create safer therapeutic spaces for clients to heal and grow. We also offer gender awareness and responsiveness trainings for other organizations and healthcare providers, including hospitals, schools and treatment centers.
