Much of our pain comes through aloneness, misunderstanding, or the neglect of our needs. Our therapeutic relationship will be a safe, empathic place for togetherness and attunement to your values. I am passionate about working with adults, adolescents, and couples to address anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, grief, life adjustments, body image, and other concerns. I work with individuals, 18 and older, who are looking for a trusted, compassionate partner to embark on their healing journey with. I work collaboratively, inclusively, and always with a holistic, trauma-informed lens. I focus on (complex) trauma, (C)PTSD, DID & other dissociative disorders, and addressing a variety of related symptoms from repeated/chronic trauma (including ritual abuse). Jennifer provides counseling support for individuals struggling with relationship concerns, infertility, grief (including pregnancy loss/miscarriage), sudden or chronic illness/medical concerns, depression, anxiety, as well as other life transitions. Jennifer believes that just because you may feel alone does not mean you have to go through these challenges alone. She works from a strengths based lens and provides active and collaborative support during a time when things feel hard or unmanageable. She has spent many years as part of a counseling center as well as providing mental health care in a medical setting.

My ideal client is someone who is looking for a change and has the energy and bravery to try. People who want to break free from the patterns of thought and behavior that hold them back from living their fullest life. As far as needs, people who need skills to get through the day-to-day, and goals can span a broad range of outcomes. I enjoy helping people find a way back to their core values and recover from real low points and difficulties in everyday life.

Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) whose theoretical foundations lie in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Sarah specializes in treating difficulties with emotional regulation, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief and loss, stress, anxiety, and trauma. Her style of therapy is flexible and collaborative with an emphasis on meeting clients wherever they are on their journey with compassion and curiosity. As a therapist, Sarah strives to provide culturally sensitive interventions to help clients feel supported in taking risks, being authentic, and ultimately living the life they’re wanting to live.

We need to feel to heal. I believe this to be true, and I’m also aware of how much easier said than done this process is. For many of us, disconnecting from our emotions, needs, and desires is how we’ve learned to protect ourselves from feeling the full weight of painful experiences in our life. I help teens and adults who have experienced trauma of any kind break free from these protective measures and begin to heal from trauma and its lingering effects. For my clients, these effects often show up as anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-harm, relationship difficulties, or a combo of all of the above.

I hope to support clients as they move from disconnection and chaos towards connection and stability. I work with folks who may have experienced stressors such as relational issues, suicidal ideation, addiction, spiritual abuse, neglect, or multiple forms of trauma. My clients are primarily ages 16-35, though I welcome all those aged above who are seeking a compassionate companion to walk alongside them as they seek to heal. I'll be with you through the painful and challenging work towards internal and relational healing, which may look like increased regulation, consistency, felt safety and choice.

I believe that each of us is capable, sometimes with a little assistance, of making our own best decisions, and that each of us is responsible for our own path in life. This means that as a counselor, I work closely with my clients to decide on the best course of therapy. My work focuses on helping people free themselves from pain and the feeling of being "stuck" that keeps them from moving in a forward direction.

Logos Healing Institute is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of trauma survivors and those struggling with anxiety and relational challenges. My training in Humanistic Psychotherapy and Jungian studies,EMDR, Family Systems Theory and Focusing enable me to draw from a wide range of interventions and interpretations. I also have worked extensively in the realm of addictions and eating disorders using a 12 step model.

In my work as a therapist and through my own life experiences, I’ve found that so much of our pain as humans stems from a deep sense of disconnection, both from ourselves and from each other. I know it can feel like you’re in this alone- I’ve been there, and I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to be.
