A wise Jedi Master once said, “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” - Yoda. I think Yoda’s right, folks. If we let fear dictate our decisions, then our capacity and experience will be limited. That’s why it's so important for me to help you feel as comfortable as you can in front of a stranger for the first time, so we can keep you away from the dark side (I hope I have a large Star Wars audience here).

I particularly enjoy working with clients struggling with anxiety, anger, trauma, or who are confronting difficult life transitions like parenthood, infertility, aging, or loss.
At its best, therapy is a space for intense self-discovery and exciting exploration. It is often true that the things we struggle with most lead us to encounters with our deepest values, and I am inspired by the way in which struggle can be transformed into strength and groundedness through careful, sensitive work. As a therapist, I’ll help you see the parts of you (your strengths, your challenges, your patterns) that have been invisible to you until now. After successful therapy, it should feel like you are seeing yourself clearly for the first time.

I take a gentle, collaborative approach in guiding adults, young adults, and teens through identity exploration, self-acceptance, life transitions, anxiety, depression, anger, and past trauma.
The process of self-discovery can be both incredibly difficult and immensely satisfying. Sometimes we seek it out, yet at other times it finds us through painful and uncomfortable experiences. At the core of my work is a deep respect for your lived experiences and perspectives, while keeping a curious mind to better understand your inner systems.

Today's confused, often over-stimulating times can be depressing, certainly anxiety provoking. Core questions surface. Who am I? My "image" aka my socially acceptable self?
Yes, but much more. How do I find out? Become the most creative, productive individual I can be? How do I get beyond the apathy and life's daily frustrations, step into the fire of my meant-to-be self? A "foray" is an excursion into the unknown, a stretch and reach for the new and undiscovered. Employing "emotional courage" as the fulcrum, we work hard together to make recovery and growth the adventures they are meant to be.

Attention is one of the most powerful gifts we can give. I embody this philosophy in my practice by striving to listen well, to understand you, to find the good that has been ignored or buried, and to name themes and beliefs that keep you stuck. I enjoy working with adults who are mired by anxiety, panic, depression, disordered eating, relationship difficulties, compulsions, addictions, or who are having difficulty adjusting to life circumstances. I am highly relational, meaning therapy with me feels like talking to an interested and compassionate friend.

My name is Easton, I have been working to assist individuals in their endeavors to overcome, find freedom, and otherwise love their life for ten years. I see each individual I work with as altogether new and unique from any other person, and therefore treat the individual's presentation without any prior judgement, or previously held convention. My primary therapeutic approach is to understand the individual before I setup a treatment plan and a course of corrective or solution focused action. The individuals I counsel must first be understood, and heard, before a solution or change can be agreed upon.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
