As an attachment and trauma-informed therapist, I am interested in how relationships affect change and draw from relational models of treatment.
Many aspects of life can be difficult, recurring and even intolerable. Hope or hoplessness may have led you to seek therapy, in pursuit of changes that continue to mystify you. Therapy can offer support in making clearer sense of what it is you are experiencing in your life and relationships, working towards adjustments that create new possibilities and insights. Sometimes things don't change, though, and you may have to contend with that powerlessness too. In therapy together, we can use our working relationship to explore challenges and hopes you are facing, developing new capacities for navigating life and relationships.

The common saying "It’s about the journey, not the destination” certainly has its time and place. However, if there’s anything I’ve learned over more than a decade working with the havoc wreaked by trauma and relationships in crisis, it’s that the therapeutic journey ought to lead to a destination…and quick! When we spend years of our lives wrestling with the challenges of relationship distress, post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety and a whole lot of unhealthy coping mechanisms, in my humble opinion, this journey need not take until we’re old and gray or our most precious relationships have fallen apart.

Veterans, 1st responders, ministry, and individuals with trauma find I offer a non-judgmental approach, I'm easy to talk with, compassionate, and empathic.
Having to face the daily challenges and exhaustion of life can wear a person out. Dealing with constant worry and struggles can feel like an uphill battle. You often wonder if you will ever overcome the past. You feel like no one understands what you've been through. You wish someone would not just hear you but actually stop to listen without questioning your experience or your mood. You’re tired of feeling isolated and alone while struggling with guilt, shame, and anger. You’re tired of having nightmares, sleepless nights, and intrusive thoughts which replay over and over in your mind. All you want is the pain to stop.

My therapeutic practice emphasizes the potential of the mind-body connection, drawing from a range of modalities, including client-centered, behavioral, and trauma-focused therapies.
Past traumatic experiences can significantly impact how we function in the present, affecting our relationships and overall sense of self. This can lead to feeling disconnected, stuck, or emotionally flooded. I aim to provide a safe space that encourages self-exploration for processing past wounds, ultimately leading to self-acceptance. Having worked in diverse settings such as schools, private practice, and the justice system, I understand that the human experience can be painful, and no one should have to endure this pain alone.

I understand on a personal level what it is like to face trauma and value doing my own deep therapy work.
Life can feel exhausting and stressful. Sometimes it all feels like too much, other times you feel like “too much”. The weight of your feelings can be so overwhelming that you cope with substances, food, distraction, or anything else so you don’t have to feel. You desperately want to be understood and need to be supported but you have a hard time allowing yourself to be vulnerable enough to truly allow someone in to your world. You can rarely trust yourself, let alone trusting someone else with your deepest feelings. You feel broken and that there is something wrong with you.

I offer a compassionate approach to psychotherapy that works through the body to bring unconscious information (often held as tensions, chronic illness, nervous system disorders, anxiety, depression, nightmares, low self-esteem and inabilities to function at full capacity)into conscious awareness, facilitating deep and lasting changes. Our childhood wounds and traumas become blocks to the manifestation of our purpose/gifts. I honor the inherent wisdom of my clients and help them find authentic expression of their gifts. My strengths are my ability to use my intuition to help clients "put the pieces together," and my own personal experience with resolving trauma.

We can go to the park, which helps with opening up, feeling comfortable, processing, growing, and healing, and is great for PTSD and self esteem.
Maybe this is your first time in therapy, and you don't know what to expect. Or maybe you've tried many times, but it feels like nothing has worked. Either way, I think I have something unique to offer you. I use both nature and technology to enhance the effectiveness of therapy. This combination yields positive results in many different areas including ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, dissociation, anger management, self-esteem, and more.
