John McDowell, LPC. A core desire in life is to be fully known and accepted. At the heart of being known is the need for full honesty with ourselves and others in the midst of growth in changing life experiences. Honesty with love and humility leads us into dynamic freedom. Many people hide their realities or internal struggles in shame, fear, and performance.

I'm Josh Brown, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado with a passion for helping you live your happiest and healthiest life. After an entire career in a helping industry, I realized I wanted to continue that calling by working more directly in the lives of people who need it. I was always a "good listener" and I have always had a high level of compassion and drive to help others. Counseling is the best way to help and has been a natural fit all along. I enjoy working with a variety of clients no matter their needs.

Depression, anxiety? Men, those are not strictly "women's issues".
So here's the deal. How often do you say things like, "suck it up" and "rub some dirt on it" when things get tough? What are you hoping to gain from avoiding the truth that brought you to say those things? Are you bottling your feelings? That is the real issue, how you deal with life's roadblocks, speed bumps, and HOLY..., and not whether or not they exist. Often there is more than just you involved, you have children and they look to you as an example. emotions are human, YOU are human, THEY are human. But HOW in the HELL do you deal? Grab life by the horns and let's make a game plan! Life isn't easy...call me...you are not alone!

My name is Easton, I have been working to assist individuals in their endeavors to overcome, find freedom, and otherwise love their life for ten years. I see each individual I work with as altogether new and unique from any other person, and therefore treat the individual's presentation without any prior judgement, or previously held convention. My primary therapeutic approach is to understand the individual before I setup a treatment plan and a course of corrective or solution focused action. The individuals I counsel must first be understood, and heard, before a solution or change can be agreed upon.

Struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, or however your distress manifests makes us feel trapped, in cycles of outbursts or avoidance, and coping in ways that are not sustainable. We blame ourselves bringing us further from feeling connected and closer to feeling ashamed. Typically what we see on the surface is mistaken for ourself and is our way to cope with the issues that lie underneath. Therapy is creating a compassionate and purposeful environment to dive into deeper issues, seeing how these issues present in daily life, and developing relevant skills to free ourselves from these issues.

Life has a way of forcing us to confront things which we believed we already overcame. Sometimes we look at ourselves and think, "how did I get here?". We can become so complacent and comfortable with discomfort that it becomes our new normal, forming our views and behaviors without our knowledge it's even happening. Sometimes we all just need an accepting and neutral person to process life with in order to regain control and understanding. We will work together to build respect and trust. I believe that counseling is not giving a hand to a person sitting in the mud, it's sitting in the mud with them and getting out together.
