One technique that i use, called EMDR, helps people process and release emotions that result from trauma or abuse.
In practice over 16 years. Are you struggling with abuse or a recent trauma? Do you struggle with depression or anxiety? Do you struggle with relationships? Do you struggle with finding your path? I can help. I have worked with people for over 16 years and have found that my warm yet direct style has helped countless people uncover and connect with a deeper, stronger part of themselves. I offer a free telephone consultation to see if we would be a good fit. Life can be painful but suffering is optional.

I primarily work with adults experiencing anxiety, anxiety-related disorders, & trauma.
So often our minds torment us by going over and over the same thoughts, memories, or images. In our culture we strive to be so high-functioning that we have no time for self-care and even struggle to get adequate sleep. Without any reprieve, anxiety can make the smallest tasks seem daunting and convince us that we must do it all and do it all perfectly! We find ourselves changing and not being the person we truly know ourselves to be. If you can relate, let’s talk.

My work utilizes my training in NARM, a modality to heal symptoms of developmental trauma.
However you come into therapy is welcomed - you can’t do this wrong. Life hands us all challenges, and therapy offers non-judgemental, compassionate support as we work towards your heart's greatest desires. I say this with a deep understanding and compassion for how challenging life can be, how much you have probably survived, and how that has inevitably impacted you. This is not a cliche, but a genuine intention I hold with each client - with healing, so much more becomes possible. My specialties include complex trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, burnout, personality disorders, and LGBTQ+ challenges.

I bring a relational and person-centered style to therapy, using a holistic approach that integrates mindfulness, neurobiology, and attachment with trauma-focused and somatic therapies.
Trauma and stress shape the way we relate to ourselves, others, and the world, creating patterns of protection that hold us back from living the lives we long for. I see therapy as a collaborative exploration that nurtures connection, invites curiosity, and ultimately leads to inner and outer harmony. I believe the foundation of any healing process is a safe and authentic relationship where all parts of you feel seen and heard. This dynamic fosters the shared connection needed to tune in to difficult emotions and sensations at the right pace for your system and reshape the way you connect with yourself, others, and the world.

Whether it be trauma healing, addiction recovery, breaking generational patterns, creating healthy relationships with yourself, others, or work, send me an email and let's get you some relief.
Are you having a past trauma flare-up? Finding yourself using your superpowers to be awesome at work but then annoyed and snapping at your partner? Are you cool, calm, collected for everyone else when they have a problem but not able to ask for what you need? Feeling on edge, body numb, but when you check out the real details of the situation you know you are reacting to old events? Maybe you have even talked about some of this in therapy before and understand what’s happening but you are still flying into over protection mode before you even know it’s happening. I’m here for you.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
