I specialize in treating anxiety, mood disorders, trauma and interpersonal conflict.
I believe we are all born with everything we need to thrive, then life slaps us in the face in an abundance of ways from a variety of directions and we adjust our beliefs and behaviors in order to simply survive. If you are here looking for a therapist, it is likely you are not satisfied with how you have adjusted to life’s various assaults. My approach to therapy is more direct, utilizes humor, and is founded in cognitive behavioral theory with a strengths based perspective. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated for something different and willing to do the hard work to get it.

I also work with individuals who are struggling with eating disorders, body image distress, anxiety, family issues, and trauma.
The decision to begin therapy requires courage and hope. I know that beginning this journey can feel very vulnerable and overwhelming, that is why I prioritize creating a relationship with each of my clients through authenticity and connection. I strive to create a safe and caring environment where you are able to explore all parts of yourself. Because everyone has their own unique story and background I offer a collaborative approach. I believe that you are the expert of your life and that your own insight and knowledge is so important to the therapeutic process.

I am working towards my clinical licensure in Colorado as a resident clinician with Centus Counseling. I am passionate about serving traditionally underserved individuals and communities of all ages, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community. I work with a trauma-informed lens that is person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused. I offer a nonjudgmental, safe space for collaboration together to help individuals find their authentic self. I recognize that the process towards self-empowerment is not easy, and that small steps can lead to large changes that help one move from survival mode to thriving.

Combining my expertise in trauma and my clients’ expertise in their unique life we work together to heal what distress has gotten stored in the body.
As an adult, you are beginning to realize that your childhood wasn’t “just normal”. You got away from total chaos in your family. Or maybe you left the church/religion. Or perhaps you have been rejected by past community for your sexual or gender identity. You thought you could just move on but you can’t. This experience has left you totally destabilized. It feels like anxiety and depression are tag teaming. You don’t know who you are anymore. You feel so alone. All of your friends who didn’t have this experience just don’t get it. At the very least you just want to feel normal but what even is that?

LCSW trained in CBT and motivational interviewing, as well as TBRI. I have worked with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, veterans, and kids and teenagers. I love working with teens and kids, and I have a specialized background in trauma of all kinds. To me, therapy is about the connection between the therapist and the client, and about that attunement and understanding. Beyond that, all the training in the world is secondary!

I’m here to help people safely feel and complete stagnant trauma cycles in a titrated, regulated, and safe atmosphere.
I believe life is a playground, not a prison. This truth is hard to remember when most of us are suffering so deeply from trauma. I provide a space for people to heal from their pain and be fully witnessed, so they can healthily attach, love, play, feel, and enjoy life again. I work through a systemic lens that takes the onus off the individual and puts the focus on the oppressive systems at hand. One of the core tenets I work by as a therapist is equalizing power dynamics within the therapeutic container. I am here to help you remember and rediscover your power.

My clients are individuals who have experienced trauma at some point in their lifetime. They are individuals who notice conflict in their relationships, including difficulties with boundaries & communication. My clients find themselves putting other's needs before their own, & as a result feel burnt out. Emotions are often confusing or overwhelming, so avoidance is typically the coping strategy they are most comfortable with. My clients are willing to explore new ways of being in order to live life more fully. My clients are open to a holistic approach to therapy that includes all areas of their life & their unique identities.

I also have seen great grief and trauma along the way.
Finding a therapist you connect with can be especially challenging when already feeling disconnected from yourself and from those around you. I have found that a validating, non-judgmental, and genuine therapeutic relationship with clients is the first and mightiest step towards healing. I work with often misunderstood men, women, and teens to help improve self-esteem, explore the impacts of trauma, navigate relationships, and to move forward with less weight on their shoulders. The soul of my work is to help identify the root of the struggle so we can laugh and cry to coping, healing, and resilience.

If you are highly sensitive and/or neurodivergent and you're feeling all talked out, or like you have all the insight but haven't been able to shift in the ways that you want to. It might be time to try somatic therapy. As a trained somatic therapist, I support you in deepening your relationship with your body and understanding the language it speaks—including how trauma may have manifested in your nervous system and is impacting your life today. Through embodied awareness, gentle movement, imagery, and energetic work, we will uncover the unconscious scripts and wounds that your body has been holding to gently repattern them.

I use EMDR to help process any past trauma/distress, and hold a trauma-informed lens.
Therapy is a shared journey that requires trust and investment on both ends. I know that this kind of trust can take time to build. As such, I will always offer patience, understanding, and an open mind regarding anything that may be on your path. I will also always welcome your questions, curiosities, and critiques, and strive to respond in an open, honest, and direct manner. As a counselor, I recognize that our social locations and differing experiences affect our perspectives and approaches to the world, and I hold this in mind as I work with clients.

I specialize in helping people work through depression, anxiety, relational issues, abuse, PTSD/trauma, life transitions, LGBTQ+ concerns, grief and loss.
On-line sessions only. No in person session available...Most likely, it took a lot of courage for you to arrive here. It requires bravery to open up to someone and be vulnerable. To say, “I need help,” is a tremendously vulnerable act. It might be hard to trust people or to risk opening up about your struggles. I get it. I'm here to make that process as seamless as possible. The more each of us reaches out for help, the more we normalize helping each other. I aim to create an atmosphere where you can be open about all your life experiences without judgment.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
