If you are struggling with OCD, anxiety, trauma, or life transitions, I might be the right therapist for you! My style in the therapy room is to go further than “just talking” and provide ERP, EMDR, and ACT therapy and tools to support you outside of the therapy room.
Welcome-I'm so glad you're here! I work with individuals struggling with OCD, anxiety, life transitions, and past trauma. Maybe you have found yourself on my page because you recognize that something is not working in your life and you are wanting to make changes. You deserve the space to heal and understand patterns in your life that might be causing stress, anxiety, loneliness, depression or strains in relationships. Life is not meant to just be survived, it is to be experienced to the fullest potential and we can discover that in the therapy room!

I practice EMDR.
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." - Maya Angelou. I am a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in Denver. I assist clients in developing insight and self-awareness so they may make more informed choices rather than perpetuating old patterns and habits. My work tends to focus on healing from the past, increasing coping skills and building on existing strengths to move in a new direction and create change. I bring 26 years of experience, knowledge, skills, humor, and empathy to my work with clients.

I have formal training in EMDR, AEDP, parts work, and mindfulness-based therapies.
I work with individual adults on issues related to anxiety, stress, relationships, perfectionism, and traumatic experiences. Sometimes change is a choice, and other times we are blindsided by life. Regardless of what leads to a shift for you, having a compassionate ally on the journey can make all the difference. I’m not immune to struggle or disappointment in my own life, and see my work as part change expert and part companion. Simply another human being coming alongside you to help you process, make peace with, or initiate steps towards a bigger transition that leads to less suffering, and more joy.

I am energized by the changes I see when people engage in EMDR therapy, somatic approaches and traditional talk therapy.
Reaching out to a therapist involves a great deal of courage. I have a great deal of respect for anyone who seeks my help and am honored by each unique individual who does. My mission is to provide you with the tools to discover your own innate wisdom and power to heal through greater awareness and connection to self, others, and spirit. I work in collaboration with you to determine what will be most helpful, growthful, and supportive to your needs.

About me: I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, Supervisor, Professor and Family Therapist.
As a long time therapist, I know that it usually takes a lot of courage to reach out for help & it can feel so vulnerable to take this first step. I honor this stepping out of your comfort zone into the unfamiliar, so I create felt safety & a close therapeutic connection from the get go. I bring compassion into all my sessions, valuing the client's pace and sense of security as highly as I value my knowledge and experience. It is my belief that it is only in this balance that therapeutic healing can occur.

We will also use groundbreaking and forward-thinking methods like EMDR, yoga, nature, and more to work through substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma, fertility, perinatal and postpartum concerns, and relationship issues.
You are unlike any other being that exists. You are a creative force. You go against the grain and it might feel like you don't fit in. Society has tried to box you in for so long that you've pushed away and hidden little parts of your soul. You may have numbed your feelings and ignored your heart's desires as a trade for comfort, stability, acceptance, and normalcy. I understand, because I've been there too, but this is what I know for sure. Our soul is crying out for true freedom.

Specifically I have a passion for using EMDR to empower them to live in a new way.
There are times in all of our lives that we need someone to talk to. Counseling can be a powerful resource in dealing with past hurts, trauma's, processing important life decisions, relationships and so much more. No matter what it is, you deserve to have someone walk with you in the journey of life. It is my belief that we are made up of mind, body and spirit and that we all desire to move towards being the best version of ourselves.

I utilize EMDR, somatic, existential, anti-racist, and narrative therapy modalities along with a queer informed perspective to facilitate conversations that assist clients in creating deeper belonging with self and connection with community.
I am a non-binary, queer, neurodivergent, white, parent, educator and activist. All of these identities inform my approach as well as my experience in the world. I conceptualize my role in therapy as a thought partner and story mapper. I work with clients to explore narratives and experiences, and note behavioral patterns with the aim of making the unconscious conscious. In addition to my role as a therapist I am a writer and passionate advocate for inclusivity within businesses and communities.

I utilize EMDR, DBT, Internal Family Systems, EFT, and Values based exploration in my work with individuals.
Are you in a relationship and feeling trapped in communication patterns that leave you feeling disconnected, alone, or unheard? Are you an individual who is feeling challenged with anxiety, your relationship with food, your relationships in general, or "getting past your past". I work regularly with couples and individuals to find healing within themselves and within their relationships, to learn ways to regulate emotion in order to experience life with more joy, and to feel more able to organize around their emotion vs. feel overwhelmed from it. I am currently working online via video with clients. I see clients in person at times.

I also enjoy using attachment and somatic interventions, and I am trained in EMDR and couples-specific modalities including Gottman Method and EFT.
I believe that curiosity heals, that healing comes from approaching our lives with greater openness & non-judgement. I work with individuals and couples/intimate relationships impacted by trauma, relationship issues, chronic illness, grief, & identity exploration. Using a caring and direct approach, I support clients to gain deeper understanding, increase emotional regulation, & use more effective conflict management strategies. I believe that our world often makes it seem like we need to be fixed when really we need trust, connection, and tools to cultivate desired change within ourselves and our relationships.

Schedule through my website link in my bio today! Before his own private practice, Tim provided mental health and addiction counseling to individuals and groups. Most of his time was spent serving forensic clients, who were state-mandated to inpatient rehabilitation for a history of felony convictions and serious drug use. Many of them had dual diagnoses, meaning they had mental health issues coinciding with their substance use disorders (which is often the case). Tim relied heavily on various counseling theories including Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy. He became trained in EMDR.

I am EMDR trained and use somatic techniques to help clients strengthen their mind-body connection.
If you're tired of constantly feeling like you need to regain control of your life, I get it. It's common to channel anxiety and stress into productivity, controlling food and criticism for our bodies. We know shame is not a sustainable motivator for change, yet so often it's the tool we come back to time and time again. I enjoy helping clients unpack internalized shame to explore what is holding them back from a more fulfilling life.

I am trained in EMDR and often incorporate this modality into my work with clients to address specific trauma memories.
I address a range of concerns with clients including depression, anxiety, relationships, addiction and trauma. I believe that therapy offers the unique opportunity to work on your relationship with yourself, which consequently improves your relationships with others. I guide clients towards a deeper self-awareness and greater emotional resiliency. In my work, I emphasize the importance of self-compassion and taking a mindful stance towards your thoughts and emotions. When we are able to approach our internal life with curiosity and compassion, life is much easier to navigate, and strong emotion states won't overwhelm us.

This process is profound in creating change, allowing you to experience more peace within yourself, live with more passion and presence, and improve the quality of your relationships. Through really listening and being present with you, I will help you explore these messages, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and heal old wounds. This process is profound in creating change, allowing you to experience more peace within yourself, live with more passion and presence, and improve the quality of your relationships. I am a licensed psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology. I have experience working with individuals of all ages who are seeking to live more full and engaged lives.
