I take a holistic, person-centered, trauma-focused, and mind-body approach to healing with my clients using EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and yoga.
You deserve to feel seen and heard and validated for your experience. You are stronger than you believe and have everything you need within you already. Sometimes we all just need some help unlocking our strengths within. Through a safe and secure therapeutic relationship, I believe it is possible to heal from trauma and no longer just survive, but actually thrive. My passion for empowering others to heal from their trauma is inspired by my own lifelong healing journey and soul's purpose of healing my trauma so that I can assist others by empowering them to heal theirs.

There is so much hope for you to emerge from the cage that is trauma. My passion lies in supporting adults and couples in getting unstuck from childhood trauma. Maybe you suspect that trauma is at the root of your stuckness, listen to the podcasts, understand the difficulty in your family growing up, but still feel like a shell of a human and like you just keep surviving. Maybe you feel like work is the only good part of life. Or maybe you are discouraged after years in EMDR therapy/ therapy, but feeling like life is still getting further away from the adventurous, creative, spiritual, full life you long for. There is so much hope.

In addition to the sacred container we create together, I also offer therapeutic value through mindfulness, CBT, self compassion work, an attachment lens, as well as EMDR, and "parts" work to gain a better understanding around behaviors or addictive processes that are in the way of being fully you!.
Perhaps, you grew up in a family or culture where your thoughts, emotions, or body were rejected. To be accepted in this world and find a place of "belonging; you ended up abandoning yourself in the process. Many of my clients come to me because they are seeking to find themselves again and reclaim their needs and desires.

I have training in somatic, cognitive & behavioral, family therapy, and EMDR approaches to best address trauma, attachment and relational wounds, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and suicidality/self-harm.
My ideal clients come into my office hoping to explore and better understand themselves and others, foster healthy and happy relationships, shift ineffective behavioral and relational patterns, and work towards a life that they consider fulfilled and worth living. Let’s focus on symptom reduction and personal growth. Change can be terrifying and at times feel impossible. Our work will be exploring and attending to how to best balance safety and risk to reach your personal goals. Change, which can be joyful and exciting, often also comes with loss and pain. Let’s work together to understand what that balance looks like for you.

I incorporate strengths based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, EMDR, & Trauma-Informed care into my practice.
You're having a hard time making decisions related to a relationship, career, or life. You're trying to do everything “right” to try to make other people happy and running away from what it is that you want. You constantly feel guilt and fear & it's preventing you from living a more free & full life. I specialize in working with women to bring awareness to how you are genuinely feeling, in your mind and body, to help discover and set boundaries around what you truly want for yourself without worrying about other people’s expectations or needs. I believe that we are all deserving of discovering our truths, purpose, and direction.

About me: I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, Supervisor, Professor and Family Therapist.
As a long time therapist, I know that it usually takes a lot of courage to reach out for help & it can feel so vulnerable to take this first step. I honor this stepping out of your comfort zone into the unfamiliar, so I create felt safety & a close therapeutic connection from the get go. I bring compassion into all my sessions, valuing the client's pace and sense of security as highly as I value my knowledge and experience. It is my belief that it is only in this balance that therapeutic healing can occur.

I am trained in EMDR and often incorporate this modality into my work with clients to address specific trauma memories.
I address a range of concerns with clients including depression, anxiety, relationships, addiction and trauma. I believe that therapy offers the unique opportunity to work on your relationship with yourself, which consequently improves your relationships with others. I guide clients towards a deeper self-awareness and greater emotional resiliency. In my work, I emphasize the importance of self-compassion and taking a mindful stance towards your thoughts and emotions. When we are able to approach our internal life with curiosity and compassion, life is much easier to navigate, and strong emotion states won't overwhelm us.

Schedule through my website link in my bio today! Before his own private practice, Tim provided mental health and addiction counseling to individuals and groups. Most of his time was spent serving forensic clients, who were state-mandated to inpatient rehabilitation for a history of felony convictions and serious drug use. Many of them had dual diagnoses, meaning they had mental health issues coinciding with their substance use disorders (which is often the case). Tim relied heavily on various counseling theories including Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy. He became trained in EMDR.

I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR to assist you in fully healing and releasing complex trauma and single event trauma experiences.
You are unlike any other being that exists. You are a creative force. You go against the grain and it might feel like you don't fit in. Society has tried to box you in for so long that you've pushed away and hidden little parts of your soul. You may have numbed your feelings and ignored your heart's desires as a trade for comfort, stability, acceptance, and normalcy. I understand, because I've been there too, but this is what I know for sure. Our soul is crying out for true freedom. I will hold a safe space for you as we move towards healing what is blocking you from living your most powerful, abundant, and limitless life.

I utilize EMDR, somatic, existential, anti-racist, and narrative therapy modalities along with a queer informed perspective to facilitate conversations that assist clients in creating deeper belonging with self and connection with community.
I am a non-binary, queer, neurodivergent, white, parent, educator and activist. All of these identities inform my approach as well as my experience in the world. I conceptualize my role in therapy as a thought partner and story mapper. I work with clients to explore narratives and experiences, and note behavioral patterns with the aim of making the unconscious conscious. In addition to my role as a therapist I am a writer and passionate advocate for inclusivity within businesses and communities.

Each individual's healing path is unique and my work is centered on removing the barriers to living from your highest self through the Internal Family Systems (EMDR, EFT Tapping, Brainspotting too).
Heal. Grow. Thrive. This is our trail map for success in helping you to live your life fully alive: emotionally, relationally, physically and spiritually. I specialize in helping individuals heal the root of their anxieties, fears, and traumas so that they can put their energy back into enjoying life again (not just surviving). I will also help you grow by learning new ways to navigate upsetting emotions, challenging behaviors and thought patterns. Finally, we can work on envisioning the life that you've dreamed of, breaking down barriers that keep you from your best and focusing on identifying and building into your strengths.

I am certified in EMDR, a multi-purposeful therapy especially useful in helping people overcome the negative effects of trauma.
I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, and addictions. I'm a real human, and I'll treat you like one. You'll probably cry a bit, laugh a bit more, and feel heard and understood along the way. You'll leave therapy more equipped to manage the crap life can throw at you, and you'll be better able to enjoy your life.

Reaching out to a therapist involves a great deal of courage. I have a great deal of respect for anyone who seeks my help and am honored by each unique individual who does. My mission is to provide you with the tools to discover your own innate wisdom and power to heal through greater awareness and connection to self, others, and spirit. I work in collaboration with you to determine what will be most helpful, growthful, and supportive to your needs.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
