Vida has been working in the mental health and addiction field since 2010. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from her home Country, Iran. In 2012 she immigrated to the US with her family, followed her dreams of becoming a therapist, and started working on learning English academically as her second language. Vida began her master's program in 2017 and received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. She is fluent in both Farsi and English and is able to read, write and speak Turkish effectively.

Mental health therapy can help in our healing and personal growth journey. I believe that through connection and empathy, we can break away from the beliefs, shame, memories and behavioral patterns that no longer serve us. I focus on empowerment and what we have the power to control. I use a direct, kind, strengths-based approach. My goal is to help client's find their power, learn to set boundaries, and change harsh inner critic thoughts. I am trained in a variety of different approaches so I can tailor treatment needs to the uniqueness of each individual. I am a licensed provider in Montana (LCPC) and Colorado (LPC).

My approach to treating couples is informed by my training in PACT II, Gottman Method I, EFT and EFFT.

So, we work on helping you to retrain your brain for more optimal functioning. Hi, I am Alyssa Syrdal and I am the owner and primary clinician at Juniper Therapy. I specialize in working with children, adolescents and their families. My background is in early childhood development and working with children with special needs and their families. Alongside my work with children with special needs I studied and gained great understanding and experience in working with those struggling or in recovery for an eating disorder, disordered eating, or body image concerns. In recent years I have done extensive work with children and their families regarding trauma processing, behaviors and other emotional disturbances.

As a therapist, my primary goal is to provide a supportive and understanding environment for my clients to share their emotions and experiences. It is important to me that my clients feel understood and heard in the therapy room; I value collaboration and developing a strong therapeutic relationship. I work to support, empower, and gently challenge my clients in order to help meet their goals and create a life of meaning. I believe that therapy should be personal and individualized, and operate from a cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment therapy and EMDR framework.

I believe everyone is capable of growth and transformation. My therapeutic style is warm, supportive, and encouraging. I use humor to provide new ways of relating, encourage movement away from defensive reactions, and add a light touch to intense moments. I utilize a blend of Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI) and experiential techniques when working with clients. AAI can enhance our work on self-awareness, communication, relationships, coping skills, and teamwork.

I can also provide EMDR to help with trauma that may be interfering with a person's ability to achieve their desired goals.
