With 25 counselors here at The Golden Wellness Center, we are able to see and specialize in Children, Adolescents, Adults, and Couples. We also have certified Psychedelic Assisted Therapist on staff as well. We help the local community here in Golden and surrounding area with their mental health and getting to the best version they can be in life.

I provide specialty care for adults struggling with anxiety or trauma related symptoms. These challenges can show up in many different ways- from physical symptoms, intrusive thoughts or worry, relationship difficulties, sleep problems, and changes in behaviors that begin to make life smaller and smaller. We are all doing the best we can and apply many creative strategies to get away from distress. However, these strategies often begin to backfire and get in the way of the things we want the very most.

My path to becoming a psychologist likely began in early childhood when I began observing the people around me and anticipating their reactions and behavior. In the early stages of my career, I was drawn specifically to understanding attachment style and how our early relationships influenced our emotional development, and how we connect with others. My approach to therapy also includes sensorimotor interventions in which I invite you to practice curiosity about physical sensations and cues. Most integral to my work is the therapeutic relationship for it is only when we feel truly connected that we're able to fully know ourselves.

Sandstone Care provides substance use, addiction, and mental health treatment for young adults (ages 18 to 30) and adolescents (ages 13 to 18) including Residential Treatment, Day Treatment (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and General Outpatient (OP) programming.

With a certification in the Collaboration of Care Model (CoCM) from the University of Washington, I specialize in serving the geriatric population. I help those experiencing anxiety or depression about cognitive decline and memory issues, as well as their family members dealing with related stress. My collaborative approach with prescribing and other healthcare providers ensures comprehensive care, tailored to improve mental health and quality of life. I believe most people are looking to feel connected. I see therapy as a space to explore the obstacles keeping us from connecting to other people, to our values, or towards our goals. I have a special interest in relationship issues and family of origin issues, which can often be precursors to depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, sleep issues, eating disorders, and a myriad of other mental health problems. I use predominantly psychodynamic methods in my clinical work and I believe that exploring our past is crucial in understanding and changing the present.

I love working with folks who see themselves as outside the gender and relationship mainstream; it takes a lot of courage and can also be painful to navigate. As a seasoned and experienced Counselor, I take a holistic (comprehensive) approach in psychotherapy focusing on all parts of a person which includes the emotional, social, biological, environmental, spiritual/philosophical (meaning and purpose), and psychological components that make us whole.
