I work with clients who are struggling with major life transitions, anxiety/perfectionism, parenting/family struggles, spirituality, feminine awakening, self-esteem and relationship difficulties. I work with adults and children, but in different capacities. For minors, I provide 50-minute art therapy sessions. For adults, I provide a combination of coaching and art therapy, each session is 1-2 hrs.

The work I do with clients is rooted in the belief that connecting with all of the parts that make us who we are and forming meaningful relationships with our surrounding community (both human and non-human) can help us find solid ground in times of stress, trauma, and challenging life transitions. I specialize in helping children, teens and young adults develop the skills to find nervous system regulation, form healthy attachments, and build skills to manage anxiety and depression. Chetney Nelsen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Colorado who has been practicing since 2004. He has an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado State University. Chetney works with individuals, couples, and families for a variety of presenting issues, such as infidelity, domestic violence, parenting and child problems, sex and gender issues, and most especially, trauma. Chetney uses Evidence-based protocols in his practice, primarily Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy and EMDR, and he is trained in several others.
