I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) with over 12 years of experience counseling individuals, couples, and groups. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Since 2010, my studies and career have focused on identifying underlying problems contributing to substance use and problematic behaviors. The primary emphasis of my master’s level studies was trauma and substance use disorders.I have 30 years of experience in the health care industry, including executive-level positions, 12 of which are in the behavioral health field.

In my years of doing this work, I have seen the biggest challenge for clients is in making that first appointment. The problems we face in life are difficult. The hurts we feel, impede our ability to problem-solve. I do not proclaim to have all the answers, but I truly love working with clients to find solutions that fit their situation. In my practice I utilize both Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy modalities to undergird my client-centered approach. Together we will explore and challenge the thoughts and actions that contribute to problems, along with developing a plan for practicing new ways of thinking.
