I am married with 2 adult children and 3 grandchildren. I previously worked for 30 Years with CDOC and retired in 2016 as the manager of a sub-program. One of the most influential assignments I had was in Forensics for the CDOC. I enjoyed it and was incentivized to finish my education in mental health. I received my master's in 1993. I then managed the maximum administrative segregation portion of a forensic prison. Once I retired I transitioned back to community mental health. I provided group and individual sessions to half-way house inmates. I also started working as a mentor and mental health coach with adolescents.

I work with sensitive clients facing anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles. This includes issues like people-pleasing, difficulties with self-compassion, and navigating relationships clouded by the need for harmony. They may struggle with narcissistic abuse, fitting into an overstimulating world, and avoiding conflict, seeking to understand their symptoms deeply.

The challenges of life can seem overwhelming. Anxiety, depression, fear and insecurity can negatively color your perception of yourself and your life, and cause mental, emotional, somatic, and social distress. It is possible, however, to change this familiar pattern by working with your mind, emotions, and behaviors in a way that fosters growth. If you are dedicated to your psychological growth, and you practice using methods such as mindful awareness and contemplative inquiry, you can access your best self, and steer your life in a positive direction.

Not accepting new clients
Many of my clients say they feel stuck. Others say they are lacking inspiration, are tired of pervasive anxiety, sadness, stress and guilt; they just want peace. As an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor, I compassionately, yet directly support my Adult clients by looking at choices, thought patterns, strengths and weaknesses, while also identifying new coping tools. I have extensive experience in complex family dynamics, ADHD and HSPs. All these factors inevitably influence our sense of self-worth & how we show up in life & relationships. I'd love to help untangle and demystify why we KNOW better, but struggle to DO better.

As a Depth and Jungian psychotherapist, with a background in art and visual effects, I am often looking to find the hidden metaphors in one’s life story and help contextualize the journey that an individual may be on.
You may be struggling with depression, anxiety, or addiction and seeking insight into this life journey you are on. Perhaps you seek to understand the complex tapestry your life has become in order to find healing for the pain you have always carried, or maybe you’re struggling with a lack of direction or low self-esteem. I also guide people through the loss that accompanies life transitions, including the death of a loved one, a career change, or another transition such as midlife, empty-nest, divorce, or health recovery.

My recent experience and ongoing training is in Jungian Psychology, a theory which honors artistic expression, image-making, and dreamwork as an important aspect of therapy.
I want to get to know you and your individual experience, and let that guide and inform our work together. I offer an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship, promoting deep exploration of difficult experiences and feelings as an important part of healing. Therapy is a place to openly explore what's been troubling you and engage in meaningful conversation towards resolution, renewal and a more holistic sense of self.

Jungian Therapists

How does Jungian therapy work?

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, focuses on a patient’s inner experiences and unconscious mind. Exploring a person’s unconscious mind can be achieved through several means, including the analysis of memories and dreams, and through physical exercises, such as art, dance, and word association.

How long does Jungian therapy last?

Jungian therapy is an intensive treatment type. Because its goal is to understand a person as a whole, including the unconscious aspects of them, treatment can range from months to years. Since patients learn the theory behind Jungian therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have completed.

Is Jungian therapy effective?

According to studies, many patients find success with Jungian therapy, and the century-old treatment has a devoted following. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Improvements in problem areas seem to continue even after the end of Jungian therapy, as people are able to continue working on themselves using the tools they’ve learned during the treatment.

Is Jungian therapy evidence-based?

Jungian therapy is theory-based, derived from the theories of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist often called one of the fathers of psychology, along with Sigmund Freud. Jung developed his theories from observing the problems of patients, and developed many theories of how the mind works. Subsequent psychological research has determined that Jungian therapy can lead to significant improvement in most patients.
