I understand that life can feel unmanageable at times and you may need some additional support. My therapeutic style is one of openness, respect, inclusion and positive regard. I enjoy meeting clients where they are, and help build coping skills, awareness and understanding around what is at the root of the struggles. I believe the relationship between the therapist and client is essential to positive, healthy change. It is often the relationship with a supportive and skilled therapist that allows people to talk about and explore issues/struggles that feel too difficult to explore on your own.

I provide therapy and coaching for neurologically diverse adults and teens who may at times feel challenged, confused or exhausted by the social world. I enjoy helping clients to interpret the 'invisible' rules of social relationships, and to problem-solve practical challenges they may face at home, work, or school. I use EMDR therapy frequently for improving self-regulation, and for processing trauma or other past experiences that may be interfering with clients' daily life. I also provide consultation to parents and caregivers of individuals who are working on social cognition issues.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, empathetic, and person-centered. Clients I typically work with have presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Depending on a client’s individual needs, I utilize a variety of modalities such as EMDR, Narrative, and IFS. I find it helpful if clients explore their past traumas and/or attachments. In many cases our adoption of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors acquired during our early years, which may have served us, hinder our ability to function optimally as adults. I only work in-person as this is relational work.

As a therapist who specializes in working with teenagers, I understand how important it is for parents to have confidence in the person they entrust with their child's mental health. Adolescence is a challenging time for both teens and parents, and it can be difficult to navigate the emotional and behavioral changes that come with this stage of life. That's why I take a collaborative approach to counseling, working closely with both parents and teens to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs and concerns.

The difference between a glass half empty and one half full is a matter of shifting perspective. Sounds simple, but years of trauma, habitual behaviors, and thinking patterns can train our brains to see only what we expect to see. Research has shown that these brain patterns can be shifted at any time in life. New brain based therapies such as brainspotting make this process more accessible, creating shifts in your feeling and thinking states that lead to more balance and emotional well-being. Learning to recognize and listen to your body's innate intelligence is the first step.

Sometimes in life, our ability to cope is no longer sufficient to get us through challenges or even day-to-day. This can leave us feeling anxious, depressed, and at times, out of control. We might notice ourselves experiencing struggles with self-care, sleep, relationships, self-esteem, health, and sometimes, turning to alcohol or drugs to feel better. Therapy can help us to regain control in our lives, address past wounds, develop healthier coping skills, build resilience and heal our bodies and minds.
