Launa believes in providing client centered, trauma informed, and psychodynamic therapy with a strong utilization of clinical interventions based on client's desired areas of growth and needs.

I am married with 2 adult children and 3 grandchildren. I previously worked for 30 Years with CDOC and retired in 2016 as the manager of a sub-program. One of the most influential assignments I had was in Forensics for the CDOC. I enjoyed it and was incentivized to finish my education in mental health. I received my master's in 1993. I then managed the maximum administrative segregation portion of a forensic prison. Once I retired I transitioned back to community mental health. I provided group and individual sessions to half-way house inmates. I also started working as a mentor and mental health coach with adolescents.

I practice psychology from a psychodynamic lens which simply means I believe that a person’s roots and earlier life experiences impact their current functioning. While therapy goals are built on an individual’s needs, I will always maintain a focus of deeper self awareness during our time together. During sessions you can expect a variety of techniques from play, art, exploring family history, and DBT tools. I am also certified in KAP treatment.
