I am a bilingual psychologist originally from South America. I provide therapy in Spanish and English, and have worked extensively with clients of Latin descent. I specialize in treating adults with mood disorders/depression/bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress/trauma, anxiety disorders, life transitions, male depression, issues related to loss and grief, and relationships. My approach to therapy is highly empathic and is based on care and respect. I strongly believe in establishing a relationship of equals and mutual respect between therapist and client; one that leads to a guided journey of self-discovery and change.
I have considerable experience treating trauma both individually and in groups, including combat-related trauma, sexual and physical abuse and domestic violence. Throughout my career I've gained significant experience treating trauma and chronic mental illness in various settings including general, psychiatric and VA hospitals.
In addition to Spanish, I am also fluent in Hebrew. I believe that a being able to relate to a person from a highly empathic place and equal cultural basis is an important factor and often a key to a deeper understanding of a person's emotional pain and suffering.
