I work with women and partners experiencing challenges related to pregnancy and/or the postpartum period. Common issues include: physical and emotional stress related to efforts to conceive; grief over pregnancy loss(es); ambivalence or anxiety about pregnancy and parenthood; postpartum depression and anxiety, and struggles related to the transition to parenthood, be it the first or fifth time.
My decision to specialize in maternal mental health was partly inspired by my own journey to motherhood, but largely due to the perinatal challenges that many loved ones have faced. In recent years it has become increasingly important to me to work in the aid of women, and women's health is woefully under-resourced.
The transition to parenthood is one of life's most significant and stressful undertakings. The transformation of self, and the transformation our relationships undergo can be overwhelming.
