I believe that what drives people to seek therapy is pain--but pain can take many forms: anxiety, fear, anger, depression. Our work together is to be curious in a way that feels safe and then to develop coping skills in order to enhance functioning and move forward.
I have extensive experience working with adults and couples experiencing anxiety, anger and depression and relationship issues around intimacy, infidelity, loss of emotional connection. I am also very interested in how the past impacts our present- not so much to focus on the past but to understand how it might interfere with the here and now.
I think we get better when we learn to talk about how and what we feel, rather than be ruled by these feelings. We work together to gain insight and awareness in a safe and non judgemental setting. It can be scary to seek change, but well worth the struggle.
