I work with individuals and couples facing challenges associated with life changes and crises and those exploring new ways of dealing with old patterns. I have a specific interest in working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, loss, relationship issues and illness. I also work with women with postpartum depression and counsel around parenting issues.
I believe that people have a great capacity to change and grow. We work together to access strengths and identify patterns of coping that may no longer be productive. My style is interactive, supportive and collaborative.
I use empathy, insight and sometimes humor to help clients discover new and effective ways of managing depression, developing self-awareness and improving coping styles.
My style varies in response to the needs and preferences of the client while maintaining the goal of realizing meaningful and positive change.
Often I work in a short-term, focused therapy mode and clients are able to achieve the desired change in as few as 10 sessions. In each case, my goal is always the same-to provide a safe environment for clients to work towards meaningful change.
