Our world is a broken one filled with broken people, and oftentimes those broken people hurt one another. We are designed for connection with one another, and sometimes those connections go awry and create emotional dysfunction or trauma. That dysfunction and trauma often results in maladaptive means of protecting ourselves and coping with our feelings. This can manifest itself through substance abuse/addiction, dysfunctional relationships, depression, anxiety, and other issues. Are you feeling weighed down by any of these issues? I rely on my Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a way to get to know my clients and walk through the stages of change with them. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting to help my clients process their trauma, identify negative core beliefs, and enhance the client’s strengths in the process.
Every therapist has their own story as to how they became a therapist themselves, so naturally I see myself in the experiences of my clients. Every person who walks into my office whether it be virtually or physically, has a story, and I so look forward to being a part of that story. I have experienced healing myself, and healing is available to you, too!
